It's been a busy few months...
So yes, I am serious. I guess I've managed to miss that somewhere along the line.
That article a few pages ago was the first I've seen with his name mentioned directly in leadership.
Safe to say I've been living under a rock then?

His name has been floated for years, but never anything of substance, I don't think.

I suspect reducing income inequality and increasing housing affordability and social supports would increase our domestic fertility rate.

During a news conference on Wednesday, Macklem said the Bank of Canada is facing tough decisions, and when decisions are difficult, the central bank's independence becomes more important.
He later echoed that message in his interview with The Canadian Press.
"Lots of people are giving us advice on what we should do," Macklem said.
However, there's a reason why central banks are independent institutions, he added.
"The reason is that there are tough decisions to take, and you do have to look longer term. And it's at times like this, that when it's difficult, that you see the value of the independence of central banks."
Criticism of the Bank of Canada in Ottawa most notably began with official Opposition Leader Pierre Poilievre, who has heavily criticized the central bank's government bond purchase program at the start of the pandemic.
He's claimed the bank printed money to enable federal spending, thereby fuelling inflation. While running to be leader of the Conservative Party of Canada, Poilievre vowed to fire Macklem if he became prime minister, though he has not explained how he plans to get rid of the governor given the Bank of Canada Act would not give him that power.

Poilievre and Smith, both saying they'll do things they do not understand with powers they do not have. Kinda like the Freedom Convoy. The wacky far right, folks. Not fit to govern.

Not sarcasm at all...look I am a Canadian through and through and using the word "they" and "them" bugs me. Using Calgary as the example, all you have to do is watch how they roll and how they conduct business. In construction you will soon see nothing but guys from east Asia as builders/financiers/"tradespeople", it has nothing to do with labour shortages being filled by immigration, it's what they do/understand. I am a racist...yeah right, I buy/import from guys (Hindu) in India monthly and you should hear what Hindu's in India have to say about Muslims (they spit venom), if you or I spewed that s**t here in Canada we would be locked up. Their culture is totally racist, they move together as a religion, learn all they have to from others, push those others aside and then work together to move forward and, top to bottom MOST of this business is done in cash. Think what you want, facts are facts.

Yep.
Let's all just leave this as the authoritative response to that post and let it fade away into the background and never speak of it again.

What is his big issue with it? That it cost $54 million(that's gotta be one off the smallest bills the feds have ever paid) for a system that millions of travelers used? What was the cost per use? What is the goal, here? Dig for months to unearth a moldy nothing burger? This is a waste of resources. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if this farce ends up costing more than $54 million.
