If you believe goalie sv% is 1.000 for shots they see, perhaps

But that’s not reality

You often blame him and use the stats was my point...who scored the 5th goal? he played it terrible

make a save maybe, it's his job

lost the goalie battle big time...thats not to say I don't like Vladar but he blew it along with a few others tonight

I don't know what you mean by "feelings aside" but Berniers goal Vladar basically took himself out before he even released the shot. And this is coming from a huge Vladar fan.

Yeah, you could stretch and make excuses for each goal, but like Treliving has said this is the do it league. You need to play well, plus come up with some big/timely saves. Vladar tonight played alright and didn't come up with big/timely saves.

Nobody believes this, but there's way more nuance to an NHL goaltending performance than that.

Sutter with a small subtle dig on the crowd, well said. Needs to be stated more.

Crowd needs to be better too. Higher energy more cheering legit helps the team. There is actual science behind home field advantage in pro sports but the fans in Calgary are constantly really really quiet. And it’s not like there was literally nothing to cheer about either.

Maybe it wasn't the term that was appropriate for the circumstance, but its also pretty ridiculous and inappropriate for people to start questioning his contract after 8 games. I'll leave it at that.
Nah, we're on the same page. See my post a few up for my feelings on Huberdeau. Just a minor gripe about a silly term, lol. Nothing more.

Seattle is way better than people think...they beat Colorado, Pittsburg, Calgary, and are over .500 now. Can't just hand it to them on a silver platter with dumb penalties and turnovers
Flames were weird tonight.

For 30 minutes they were great and looked unstoppable. (2nd and up to Ritchie penalty in the third)

For 30 minutes they looked disinterested and sloppy (1st and post-Ritchie penalty)

Big thing to me is the guys who were sloppy (Andersson and Kadri) generally aren’t so that’s a good thing.

Also this team needs to bury their chances. This game isn’t close if Coleman could buy a goal or a point. Could have easily had 3 goals and 2 assists tonight and instead had nothing.

not a lot to cheer about in the first period...you drive to a game in a blizzard and see that effort?

I wouldn't wait for a good regular season crowd in Calgary to help the home team, unfortunately. I was a season ticket holder for 5 years and have gone to many games.

It's a corporate, weak atmosphere until playoffs. Unless we're playing the Oilers/Leafs/Habs but then a lot of the energy is for the visiting team.

We are what we are at this point.

A couple of things

1. There are stops you should stop, shots you could stop, and shots you can’t Flames allowed too many from bucket 3

2. Many people disregard the importance of shot placement, and the impact of it vs goalie positioning and percent of net it’s possible to cover

I posted an analysis by Valiquette long ago about the Royal Road

I seriously have zero issue with the tendy tonight

Maybe if the fans weren’t being ear raped by garbage music that makes it hard to have a conversation with the person next to them?

Also, maybe if the team didn’t come out like complete losers to start the game?

I thought Rasmus Andersson was particularly bad tonight.

Goalies have not been good enough

Only thing I’d say (and part of it is shot placement) is that Daccord made a hige save on a cross ice 2-1 shot on Lewis.

Vladar struggled to make one of the saves on the 2 cross ice goals they got (Think it was 3 and 5)

Doesn’t mean they were soft or Vladar’s fault but Lewis didn’t bury that chance that would have put away the game because Daccord made a huge save (and Lewis shot it back towards him) and Seattle buried their similar chances.
