I mean the one good thing about the last two losses is that should have won. They weren’t blowouts. Frustrating they shat the bed but better than getting dominated.

Toffoli was the reason for that -- he's been great all year.

Lucic had a monster shift in the first period but there's a lot of guys in this league who would sit for a month after a turnover that leads to a 4-on-1 and the GWG. Especially a forward with one goal in his last 66 games. That's McGrattan-level.

It was egregious, no doubt. Sucks he was the one covering that ill-advised pinch.

Huberdau might be one of the best passers in the game but he sure as hell can't recieve a pass worth a damn. For such a skilled guy he fails on pass acceptance all of the time.

I would put him back on the 4th line but no chance he should be the odd man out IMO. At least he was working his ass off out there. Damn near had the go ahead goal.

He was covering a bad pinch on the 5th one...could also use a save. Dacord made some.

Can we give him a little bit more time before we talk about his contract being terrible? lol
No offence but this "cancelling" term you keep using for criticizing players is a little lame. Cancelling at this point is a term that is even being mocked by comedians that used to use it now a days as to how over used and hyperbolic it is. It's silly.

All of the mistakes by skaters seem to be chemistry issues, so I'm not too panicked.
Disappointing to lose 2 in a row like that but you know this team has better to come.
So many players have another gear or 2 so it's almost impossible they don't get a lot better than this.

Fair. But they gave the goalie a 2 goal lead with 10 mins to go in the third.

Sooner or later you have to make a save. Neither guy can do that at the moment.

For sure. Brutal D and no big saves. Really odd that the team seems to suck defensively this year.

Flames gave up 5 high danger chances and 5 goals...not ideal

outside of Buffalo who were on a sh% heater they haven't been buried by any team they have faced .. squandered two leads where they put 40+ shots on net .. could be worse for sure .. could be outright losing without a sniff

a lot of the problems are correctable with a bit more focus

Probably win with Rooney in there instead of Ruzicka. Wonder if that change was performance or injury related. I doubt Ruzicka pulls in next game. Sutter ripped the fourth line in the postgame.

Unusual to see a 5-4 game where both goalies played well

Tonight was just that

What?! Lucic was great for his level of skill. Forechecked hard all night, made the best of what he has to offer. He's a 4th liner that got promoted to the second line, how does that earn him a night off when he doesn't live up to playing on a second line?!!

D’Accord played well. Don’t really agree on Vladar. He played okay but didn’t make a big save

Not overly concerned but definitely issues with line chemistry. More time is needed to gel but seems odd that players like Gaudreau and Tkachuk have had little issues adjusting to their new teams. Hopefully Huberdeau starts to make an impact soon. Need to get him going and Sutter agreed that more is needed. Let’s hope all lines start to get in a rhythm cause lots of work needs to be done.

When did I ever say don't criticize him? lol. I acknowledged he's been average and had a rough night, I also said Sutter shouldn't be soft on him. Maybe read the entire thread first? Talking about his damn contract being maybe one of the worst because of his first 8 games on the team, is just plain dumb.

He made plenty. Had relatively few routine saves, to be quite honest

2 of the last 3 goals were fully unstoppable

Vladar played alright, but he definitely went down early a couple times and I feel Markstrom would have had that game 4-3 Flames or tied and going to overtime.
