Nice to start the season on a luke-warmer. Not really a heater, but more of a luke-warmer. I think this team has a lot more in the tank once they start developing a little more chemistry. Once that happens I think a heater will come around and they will burn through a bunch of teams in really impressive fashion. Great to be able to look at a team with so many changes and see them atop the division without really gelling. These guys are going to be good!

Our real goal now is to beat the start of the powerhouse 2001-02 Flames team.

n two separate draft-day trades, the Flames dealt goaltender Fred Braithwaite and forwards Valeri Bure and Jason Wiemer away, gaining back Roman Turek and Rob Niedermayer.

The changes appeared to pay off, as the Flames stormed out to a 13–2–2–2 record, and first place in the division

Yep, they don't even have full chemistry yet and already look like a top 5 NHL team. And the way things are going they will have $6mil in capspace at the deadline where most playoff teams are maxing themselves out.

The thing is though I don't think it would have mattered who started the last game. The team played pretty responsible defensively and didn't give the Oilers the type of chances they gave them in the playoffs.

But the question is would the team have played like that if Markstrom would have started or would they have gone back to playing too loose? Starting Vladar might have forced them into playing more responsible.

Andersson has as many points as the last 2 Norris trophy winners. He has played one less game than each of them.

In the chuck for work right now, oilers fans seem pretty disappointed in the result. Figured that was something people reading this thread would want to know.

What a weird year that was. I’m pretty sure Iggy had something like 20 goals in the first 21 games or something.

It was so funny. It was unexpected, everyone said it would't last, and it didn't last, but everyone loved it still.

We were literally Jasper that season.

Pulled a Gaskal and originally posted this in the wrong PGT but,

From the ATL:

Question:

Quote:
Is there a reason Kadri’s line isn’t the #1 line?
That line has consistently seemed more dominant since game 1 this season
Answer: We have two #1 lines
