Wasn't he also the same King's Guard in charge of babysitting Aegon? He probably witnessed a bunch of depraved acts and had enough once he saw the child fighting pits.
My impression was the King's guard was following orders from the crown, as that was their duty, but then they began to deviate, once they realized what was happening with the High Tower's. Ser Harrold just straight up quits.
It makes sense that the King's Guard would initially serve the High Tower's but then some would quit as soon as they realize that the Hight Tower's are potentially usurping the throne.
I do think the introduction of many of these characters is rushed, but the show is also trying to get to the more interesting parts. Giving every king's guard a filled out backstory would be a lot. The show will likely move a lot like GoT, where major characters just kind of show up.

Can't confirm the bit about baby Aegon but it would be a nice touch. I agree that it's nice for them to flesh these guys out but how many seasons of this show are they committed to? It would take a lot of episodes to get some stability as far as characters and motivations goes. My expectation is that they'll focus on the main plot points and sprinkle in a few minor characters here and there as they continue now that the main story is about to kick into gear.

I think they clearly showed his disgust with Aegon as he vocally spoke up about what a POS the kid is, with all his bastards, the fight pit, depravities, etc. and then stood by while his other twin fought with Ser Cole. They set up his objection to Hightower's plans because he thinks Aegon will ruin the kingdom.

Ya, I skip it. Was kinda annoyed they went back to that well. It's a new show, make a new theme.

It's so hard to tell when the character isn't even explored yet. OMG! The guy we just saw and knew nothing about has switched sides!!
I am enjoying the show but too many of the characters are under developed and thin yet seemingly playing important roles. Littlefoot being the worst of them.

apparently the eryk twins or whatever are allied with the targs/team black (in secret while posing as hightower pawns hence why he said to otto aegon got away and made excuses) . a reviewer i followed said they were actually trying to help aegon escape KL so that he wouldn't ascend the throne while the queens guys were trying to bring him in to the keep
a lot of people missed that part .... it wasn't obvious and a little confusing though
edit: or maybe it was just one of the twins working for team black which is why the one fleed while the other fought Criston ? ack I don't even know . have to rewatch

One of the twins clearly does not want Aegon on the throne He was the one pointing out to his brother the truth of what Aegon did in Flea Bottom. Pretty sure that is the one that helped Rhaneys escape.
The other seems duty bound to serving the Hand.

Aegon the Reluctant looks a lot like Alicent, good casting there (and from certain angles, resembles Evan Peters). Aemond seems out of place physically but he's an intriguing character I'd like to know/hear more of.
Little Foot (lol, nice one ^^) is not interesting to me at all.
Does the actress playing White Worm actually sound like that? Either way...yeesh.

WATCH OUT FOR SPOILERS.
The season finale has been leaked online and available for download via piracy.
Might want to avoid HotD discussion forums, twitter, etc. to avoid getting spoilers before you can watch.

anybody feel like that was a very strange episode from Daemon ? still trying to get a grasp on what makes this guy tick and what exactly he's after other than occasional bloodlust
the immediate "they murdered my brother" conclusion was odd given visrerys condition .. i mean you saw him right ? natural death was kind of in the realm of possibility don't you think lol
maybe they were just showing his grief but I'm not sure

mainly not a lot of surprises . could see the ending coming as soon as they suggested riding dragons instead of sending ravens and the prolonged goodbye

A lot of violent A-holes are really quick to jump to conclusions about how they've been wronged by others, in order to justify their own violent acts.

I thought him suspecting regicide was in character, given how they found Viserys all drugged up in their absence. What rang false was Daemon choking his wife and the freaking Queen over a discussion about white walkers. He’s impulsive but that felt like they said oh crap we’re missing a domestic abuse scene, let’s throw that one in. The fourth horrific extended labour/stillbirth scene of the season didn’t quite do the job so…
