I hope they go full terribad with the Reverse Retro jersey and just wear their regular red helmets, gloves and pants. Make them look like a mail order beer league team. Protest.

We did a bit of a Reverse Retro recap over at FlamesNation today ... I think it's a fun little read.

As something to be worn four times and then never again, I think these are excellent. Can totally see why not everyone thinks that and I do think the Flames aren't going to be wearing red at home nearly enough. But whatever.

My take away from this jersey is that I really like the look of red shoulders on a black jersey. Would love to see that idea on a nicely designed jersey for sure.

The pedestal is fine as a throwback, but give us an original white or red one and leave the black for Blasty.

Combine that with the little dyed blonde twists in his hair at the time, and there's a lot to be angry about.

Nope, that came later with the next jerseys

vs actual:

Looking a day later and yes, the youth looks far more tolerable. A slightly smaller (and more like the original size) C, and the hem lines at the actual bottom hem of the jersey make all the design difference rather then dead space under the stripes and everything else jammed into the upper 2/3 of the jersey.

The men's version is designed for someone who is wearing high waisted jeans and is tucking the jersey in, but still wants all stripes to show. Sure maybe that's how the original was too, but following the design rules to a t is not the goal here.

With a larger C and compacted area it looks even more visually displeasing than the already set of stripes that was picked off the cutting room floor and tacked and jammed on diagonally like a puzzle.peice out of place.

They made a preorder women's version of this, the Blasty one is available, and I'm still waiting for the day I can order the classic road white.

I actually think that this RR2.0 with a black base & red shoulders looks better that the original home & away pedestals, which both sucked as jerseys.

That said, the worst Flames jersey (wordmarks with the cowboy shirt shoulders) are still better than the best Oilers (classic blue with orange shoulders) jersey.

Not sure if this was mentioned yet. But the schedule for them as them all finished and done with before Xmas! They should have spread it out, or added some more dates and dig into the Blasty games.

Flames can do what they want for wearing them. Other teams seem to be wearing them 6 to 8 times, but again, who cares.

Does it really matter to people who purchase them, if the team on the ice don't space them out? They're never wearing them again for decades if ever again so does it matter they aren't wearing them in March?

The league is releasing them for US Thanksgiving shopping, not Christmas so much. Given how limited they are they may not be available after Christmas anyways.
