I don't really mind the board advertising too much but I can't stand the in-game advertising during some of the whistles.

The animated ones with all the colour are the absolute worst. Soon we'll have full motion video ads of Ram trucks driving around the boards during play.

Yeah the ones that are static are manageable.
But any of the ones with motion or colors changing are ridiculous. Think the NHL APP one is the worst

Agree with this. I'll get used to the boards (and pretty much already have) but the Cabbie popping up for 10 seconds to talk about Draft Kings is annoying.

I don't want to sound like a Karen or Helen Lovejoy (think of the children) but there is a real more hazard and evil the gambling the NHL is getting itself in to bed with. It's totally immoral and gross.

Dont blame the NHL or any sports entity, the government made it legal as far as single game betting. Now its an arms race to see who gets the bigger pieces of the pie, and to be fair its been around for many years. Now that money just remains in Canada for the most part is all that has really changed. Morality has no place in that discussion. Its the alcohol/weed conversation all over.
As for SN and the digital ads, cant really fault them much for trying to maximize their return on a massive investment. I dont care for some of the content either, but certainly understand why i am seeing it. As always I do have the choice not to watch it as well.
Wanting "protection" from something you have entire control over whether or not you consume it, is just silliness.

Consumers need protection from monopolistic behaviour. That's not a new concept or controversial. Or at least it shouldn't be

Next they will split out the national rights into different blocks. Wednesday night game, Saturday games, Sunday games etc.
NHL already kind of did it with TNT and ESPN in the US.
It's what the NBA/NFL have done for years with their TV rights.
Then to your point people will just be mad that they need multiple services / providers to get all the content. Their might be some NHL Center Ice type of solution still, but the national games being shown on the major provider will probably be blacked out in the future then.

To be fair although the NFL splits up their rights, as a consumer I pay for Dazn and do not have blackouts and it just works.
I can't do the same with the NHL. I pay for Dazn and pirate the NHL.

Whats the monopoly though?
SN has Canadian national rights but there are other ways to watch NHL hockey.
You can always purchase center ice....no?
(Honest question as i dont do anything other than cable)

Centre ice still shows what Rogers shows. And if you live in Calgary, centre ice doesnt get you flames games, you have to still pay sportsnet/rogers.

Rogers just all around sucks. I switched mobile providers after that last fiasco a few months ago and it was the best decision I've ever made. my actual mobile internet is 100x better and more reliable than it used to be.

Isn't there only 3 to choose from in Canada? And they're all junk.

yeah, but Rogers is the worst. I spend a lot of time in Field, Revelstoke, and Golden for work, and Rogers mobile data was snails pace at best. Telus is 100x better for that alone. I got pretty screwed by those 2 outages too, So i couldn't wait to get rid of Rogers.

I have dazn and fubo and it’s incredible to think that we can watch live sporting events from around the world. Even khl games! Many games, multiple streams.
Hard to believe that no one at Rogers can figure it out. On second thought…it’s not.

What is Mario?
What streaming options are there in Canada?
Seems to me that Rogers is the only option
