Yeah, and the frame generation in DLSS 3.0 is what really intrigues me. If you can't really tell the difference then it seems like a big win.
Of course it's not magic and it's not going work nearly as good going from like 40 to 120 as from 60 to 100 and I really want to see the actual reviews but it could be good.
But there's been some recent games where DLSS made the difference between what quality I could run on my 2080 and keep it above 60 fps.

... Because you get much higher framerates and your eyes can barely ever even tell the difference between native and upscaled in most games?
What a weird question.
Your eyes can definitely tell with extra ghosting and artifacting in a lot of games.
Port over games definitely suffer from this. DLSS is just Nvidias version of AA. Enabling it isn't making a scene 4k . It underscales so unless you actually running 4k it's not a benifiet. Ya I love my 3440 x 1440 p display to images at 2650 x 920 to get frame rates high enough I like them . It's just AA underscaled. Nothing bets native at 4k .
Dlss and AA downstairs the image to be able to produce higher FPS . I don't know why It's so hard to understand or your condensending tone. Image quality suffers to get fps. That's it simple as that amd your paying for that feature. Then again I've always bought the 80 ti,titan, 90 ti class cards so....
I pity those with water cooling pumps taking up that needed 4 inches of space in the larger (but not EATX) cases

If your not running quality on dlss then why bother ? Performance and ultra performance blurrs the image so much . They call dlss upscale go but it's not . That's not what dlss actually does.

I’ve never water- cooled…
Can the 4090’s, case and fans be stripped, and a water cooler swapped in to reduce the profile and displacement? It looks like a VCR…

Yes, there are already waterblocks compatible with the OEM PCB being rolled out.
Honestly, just buy a 9" ribbon and mount the GPU externally like some home miners were doing last year.
You can craft a mounting cradle or 3D print one using online guides readily (half kidding)

Some board makers also make ones that come with an AIO attached.. though that just trades a small board for having to have space for a 240 radiator, but that might work for some.

Depending on how release day goes (where I'll grab the first one I can confirm), my preference will be the Suprim AIO, since I have 240mm space left in my case for it (alongside the 420mm AIO I installed for the 7950x) and it would benefit from the external air draw.

Lots of reviews in and looks like the 4090 is a monster. It kinda felt like nvidia was hiding their rasterization numbers but the leaks seem accurate since it actually does double the performance of the 3090 in some games at 4K.
Most seem to agree that it's the biggest generational boost in performance in a long time.
I guess that goes along with the biggest generational boost in price.
Now hopefully AMD can come close while undercutting the price. If there's lots of stock on the 4090's though it's going to be hard to resist
