Imagine the suspension
Wilson plus Calgary...player safety would be licking their chops

No idea how we’d fit in his 5.1 million salary

Sutter hates players taking unnecessary penalties. Isn't Wilson the king of bad penalties?

I’ve been tooting the Wilson horn a bit this summer. He’s a big difference maker, with the ability to intimidate, and to swing the momentum of a game with offense, big hits, fights, etc. He’s kinda the unicorn that Zito was talking about- there’s not many players like him these days, so the price tag would be big. Imagine him in the BOA…..

Wilson is recovering from a very significant injury(torn ACL). Even though he is ahead of the quoted recovery of 6-8 months, he will miss at least the first month of the season.
It's hard to gauge how much his play will be affected by that. That's why I would wait to see how he skates before offering anything substantial for him.

He stares at McDiver and McDiver whine to the ref and he'd be called 2 minutes for unsportman like conduct. And when he hit Pissy face, he'd called 2 minutes for roughing.

If Kylington isn’t technically injured can he go on LTIR or would it be a situation where they suspend him.

Doesn't sound like a situation where suspension will come into play. That'd be pretty damned cold if say he's sitting by a dying parents side . Plus I don't think the Flames sound like they have an appetite to do anything but support Kylington while this is happening (whatever it is).
I also do not think he goes to LTIR either. Just a hunch.

It might be a situation where it’s a suspension on paper just to make cap room not done with any negative intention. I have seen it done before. I am sure they would talk to him before hand, and make sure he is taken care of while he is away.

His 5.1 million salary would be a lot easier to fit in than supposed alternatives like Pastrnak (especially if they try to extend him).
Pretty sure Dube and Zadorov would be enough in terms of cap.
Not many of the top 6 wingers that might be available will be cheaper than that in terms of cap hit. I can't see Sutter liking guys like Konecny or Schmaltz. At least not as much.
The bigger problem is the acquisition price. It seems like a forgone conclusion that the Flames won't be drafting early in the 2023 draft. Wilson would be a rental, he'd have another year left on his deal. So he'd cost a bit more. I'm not exactly sure what he'd cost, but it would surely be more than Toffoli. Though not exponentially more.
There's a good chance Washington will be a good team, as per usual, making this suggestion moot.

I think it really depends on the nature of the personal issues he is dealing with. If it is something tragic and beyond his control, I hope they wouldn't suspend him.

I think it comes down to the communication between the team and Kylington. At the end of the day it’s a business and they have to make the best decision for the team. I don’t think they would do anything to hurt the relationship with the player.

If Kylington is gone for the season the Flames could work out a deal similar to Texier in Columbus. Texier is free to sign with a European team, won't get paid NHL salary, contract gets tolled a year, and won't count against the cap.
There are a lot of options depends on how long Kylington is gone and what exactly the situation is.

I'm a big fan of Kylington's game. Think the Flames will really miss him for as long as he's gone.
They'll be able to absorb his loss but it certainly isn't trivial. He played a huge part in their success for much of last year.

his primary usefulness was in transition, so hopefully weegar can make up for some of that since that's part of his game too

He would get a double minor for staring at McFlopper with both eyes. He would be good against probably anyone else.
