I wonder if we’ll see Backlund take face offs. I thought Sutter said Kadri wouldn’t play until late preseason due to his long playoff plus his healing of his broken thumb. Oh ya, go with what Sutter does not what Sutter says.

You're probably on to something there.
Kadti could be asking to get in sooner too and this allows him to get in without taking all the draws.
What do you think he would be worried about? He's not in any danger of not making the roster, and I don't think the in-team pecking order has a lot to do with how the players line up. Players like Lewis and Lucic are definitely ahead of him in terms of NHL seignority, but won't be ahead of him in the line up.

Very unlike you to mangle a word this badly. “seniority” is the correct spelling.
I'll say it right now I hope Sutter plays Markstrom less this season. 111 points is nice, but he was the weak link in the playoff vs Edmonton.
No guarantees, but a lighter regular season workload might lead to more playoff success. And Vladar is an awesome backup. Could easily do 30 games.
The last 3 games of the regular season where he played was April 18, 21 and 28. May 3 was the first playoff game.
He played 4 games in 16 days, with basically a week break in between. He was sufficiently rested.
Overwork during the regular season wasn't the reason he was the "weak link" during the playoffs. Maybe he just didn't play well. Hopefully he's better this year.

I mean, he could be trying to say that Dube is in line to be the sole owner of the NHL and that, while Lewis and Lucic may have a claim, they'll merely play in his league.

Good call. That makes more sense than Textcritic using the wrong word.

I am pretty old-school, but I had learned years ago that the word was derived from the Spanish "seignor," and this was the correct usage for years in English.
I could be totally wrong, though.

Seniority: a privileged position earned by reason of longer service or higher rank.
Seignority: business owned by an individual without the limited liability protection of a Corp or LLC.
(edit: "senior" is certainly the english derivative of the spanish "seignor"... but "seignority" seems like it would be an english-created-but-spanish-ized derivative of the same word... which I don't believe is a thing, although I am eager to find out if and how wrong I am)
