Plus Lucic and Lewis were already sent to Vancouver this week.

You are right that he's a lock for the lineup. But he's fighting for top 6 and at the same time being lumped in with the rookies.

Could simply be because he is younger than the other players though that didn't go

I saw it as a vote of confidence in Dube. "Here's the group of kids trying to make the team. Go be their leader. Be the captain and show them what they need to do." I thought it was a sign of trust in him.

This is probably correct. I just don't know about Sutter and Dube's relationship.

First NHL game tonight, was hoping to see Phillips but he played last night. Did see a list with Pourer and Soloyov so I'll take that (and all our superstars). Not dropping the game against the oilers

I agree with this. I feel like he is the type of guy that will play better under a leadership role.

I'll say it right now I hope Sutter plays Markstrom less this season. 111 points is nice, but he was the weak link in the playoff vs Edmonton.
No guarantees, but a lighter regular season workload might lead to more playoff success. And Vladar is an awesome backup. Could easily do 30 games.

Dube did everything you want from a winger in play offs outside of score. I was shocked he didn't notch more points. He needs to be more consistent with that over the season but hopefully finishing well was a sign that he is coming into his own now.

Vladar is clearly good and capable too. With the defense we have now it should be even more reason to feel safe playing vladar. That D should be able to manage any goalies workload.

Will Edmonton double shift Leon and Conna on the same line for the last half of the game?

I think we can safely say that this is not going to be a thing when the regular season rolls around.

I wonder if Backlund on the wing is to ease Kadri in. The last time Backlund was put on the wing he looked invisible and asked to be moved back.
