Holy crap. That is diabolical, evil, and brilliant all at the same time. That is Hitler-esque in design and action.
I don't know about brilliant. I think it's just standard operating procedure for the majority of countries at war. In the Vietnam war Black Americans made up 23% of the fighting force, despite being only 11% of the population for example.

No it's actually really really stupid, you are already in a losing war with one ethnic breakaway republic, you are essentially stoking massive ethnic resentment in the rest of your ethnic republics whilst also teaching their young men how to fight, it would be the equivalent of the UK solely forcing young muslim men to train in how to use guns and build bombs to go fight Isis, it will bite Putin/russia in the arse way worse than pissing off muscovites

The focus has been on Russia's mobilization, but while this was going on, Ukraine has made a very important POW exchange involving 215 of Azov's battalion that surrendered at Mariupol earlier in the war. They were thought to be all dead but most of the familiar faces that we saw on the videos were part of the release and are now safe.
Ukraine must have captured some incredibly high ranking leaders in Kharkiv offensive for this exchange to occur.

I imagine them being flown in PUBG style, having to go around looting finding guns, ammo and protection. Probably having to wear frying pans for armor.

WW2 Style. Only every other Soldier gets a gun, when he's shot, you pick it up.

More like one of those cheesy World War Z iPhone games
It's probably not realistic, but Ukraine should make some promise of amnesty for Russian defectors and guarantee of repatriation back to Russia (for those willing) if and when Ukraine's post-2014 borders are restored.

I think it's evil, diabolical, and genius if his actual intent was ethnic cleansing. The world has been sitting back wondering why Russia would attack Ukraine? They continued o wonder why the Russian military performed so poorly? The wondered where the elite troops and weapons were? They wondered why the Russians ran into logistics challenges when this is their strength? If the intent was to go in, have appearances to perform poorly and look like they are losing, then use it as a reason to enable conscription and draw from the very population you wanted to eliminate, that is just brilliant. One a level of evil like the world has not seen in almost 90 years, but absolute brilliant. The world will be focused on the Ukrainian war and not think twice about the decimation happening to the populations Putin wants to cull from the herd. It would have been like the Germans engaging the Russians first in WWII, but conscripting every Jew and sending them to the eastern front as an act of defense, only allowing them to get slaughtered. Eliminating every able bodied man from these marginalized groups is like a new Passover, and Putin is the angel of death.
