This is the only good thing about the SN McDavid hype train...he will always have to be the top paid guy and it's all about points.
No mention that he gets more ice time and PP time than anyone else.

Mcdavid was 10th in pp time on ice per game for forwards.

Draisaitl and Him are 2nd and 3rd respectively in PP ice time last year (only Ovechkin played more)
They are also 1st and 2nd in Even Strength ice time.

Edmonton was in the middle of the pack for pp chances. So if McDavid and Draisatl are close to the top they are playing a higher percentage of their teams powerplays as well. Even if you use 10th place for McDavid, all the players ahead of him are on teams with more powerplays than the Oilers.
The time on ice per game is the biggest factor I think.

Highest paid player - which he should be with this contract. And yet, still a discount for the Avs. Also, tons of bonus money. All around win on every front. MacKinnon is a class act. And the Avs did well here too.

It's pretty simple to understand, and McDavid/Drai play more than any forward in the NHL so the point is valid
Totals are impressive, but are certainly inflated by having such shallow team.
1 or 2 more minutes a game over 82 games adds up
