Who is doing that? Perhaps your are projecting that's what's happening?
I stated that I felt both the city and team muffed this. I didn't say anything about how much of the blame should go to one or the other. Nor did I say it is equal blame.

Beats me and I wouldn't know how to assess that.
if you are asking me who i think should shoulder more of the blame? I would say CSEC because their original proposal, at a key moment, was poorly conceived, inadequately put together, and did not allow for other options to be considered.

How much of the blame precisely? Beats me.

In the real world this is how negotiations work. Both sides will use their leverage as much as possible.

Usually negotiations are done in good faith because if not one side can truely walk away.

Im not sure either side can actually walk away and declare themselves a winner in the long run in the Arena discussion

You do that and Bingo does that. I mean look at this literally right here. The Flames walking away because of costs and then basically lying about the city adding to the deal, when the clause was already in the agreement is not both sides.

But you guys constantly insert the "both sides flubbed this" type language. It's totally detached from the reality of the scale of these actions. It makes no sense that any adult with a reasonable ability to gauge a situation can look at two vastly disparate actions and just say "Well, both sides". It's beyond reason.

Because I think you and Bingo are being disingenuous with this topic, because I think you're both smart enough to not just think that this is a two way blame game here.

Our facilities are terrible for a city that tries to compete as one of the best places to live. Its been embarrassing for awhile and the city should pay there fair share.

Is this where where you accuse us both of being "on the take" again?
Bingo - did you get your check this month? I didn't get mine yet.

They already had an agreement for more than their fair share. The team walked away because their costs went up.

People who like interesting conversation involve themselves in interesting conversation, more at 11.

But I guess your version sounds more exciting.

You are in no position to make that claim, considering how extreme your position is on the subject

My opinion has been transparent and stated from day one. I am very much in position to make that claim. Is the city perfect, clearly not. Are the scales comparable? No.

You are really taking a weird stance on this bringing up smarts. Do you actually believe that smart people should all agree with your opinion on this topic?

I mean, we are all free to not go to Flames games, and just use the building on the other 300 nights per year

Unless I misunderstand what you mean, the ticket levy would apply to everything.

Yeah we're not just free to use the building the other 300 nights of the year. We pay for those events too.
