This year the Oilers have suspect goaltending, a poor defense, and two elite forwards who they will live and die with.
Yep, a lot has changed this season. What a difference.

Thanks to the likes of Glencross and Lucic we know it’s cureable if subjected to treatment by Flames.

Somebody put an Oilers logo on his wound please.

Remind me again what the Oilers won that Calgary hasn't besides the draft lottery. Since that comment in January 2017, Calgary has won the Pacific twice and Edmonton has yet to win it. To be fair, they won a BOA last playoffs... but only to lose badly themselves in the next series. Arrogance doesn't show well when you really haven't won anything to speak of.

Beating Calgary in arguably the Flames worst four consecutive games of hockey all year has really gone to their heads.
But it has no implications and probably not much if any carry over to this season given that the Flames are a now a very different team with a new core composition.
Not sure what exactly they proved, if anything. They were still quickly disposed of when expected.
Most clubs would be focused on why Colorado ran their show and what obvious gap remains between them and a proper contender, not patting themselves on the back for the least impressive two round run in recent years won with exhibition quality pond hockey.
Nope, let's just ignore that embarrassing sweep and parade about labeling ourselves contenders in September.
Hopefully they faceplant right out of the gate because that's what these arrogant clowns deserve.

I fully expect Smith to make a miraculous return sometime in January, either replacing an injured Campbell or a faltering Skinner.
Spector will write a lengthy piece on how Smith's puck handling and competitive nature is just what the Oilers need to turn their season around and calls him the early Conn Smythe favourite.

Oilers Hall of Fame has been established. Can they be any more no good?

How pathetic. First thing they should have on display in their HOF is their magic lottery balls.

Maybe CP could start an Oilers Hall of Shame with Evander Kane being the first inductee.

jeez isn't that umm why you raise banners?
So we're going to have banners and names carved into the rink.
Are they going to raise a banner to signify the hall of fame?

They need to induct one of those round urinals. And a toilet seat.

This has Kevin Lowes stink all over it, which is surprisingly more potent than the usual Oilers stink. Kevin Lowe is the Disco Stu of the Glory days, if the Oilers managed to win another championship, he could finally emerge from the 80’s to take credit for the success

Yeah this is definitely the Lowe vanity tour right here. Or, how Katz got Lowe to finally duck out of the organization officially without dropping the dirt he has on the boss.

For a city that put "City of Champions" on their welcome to sign, this makes sense. I see the list of of inaugural inductees doesn't include Joey Moss... you'd think he has to be one of the two being named Tuesday Sept 20th..
Quote:
The inaugural 2022 Class of the Oilers Hall of Fame will include Oilers legends Al Hamilton, Wayne Gretzky, Jari Kurri, Grant Fuhr, Paul Coffey, Mark Messier, Glenn Anderson, Kevin Lowe, Glen Sather and Rod Phillips

Daryl Katz ought to be the first inductee.
Followed by all 267 of the Edmonton Investors Group.
And Peter Pocklington.
