I find it interesting people hating on the black and red Sabres jersey but then enjoying the Blasty jersey. There is a nostalgia factor to it definitely versus being a perfect design.
For the record, I really like both.
Are these the same posters? I seriously doubt it. I think both are lame.

A lot of people (myself included) grew up with the Kachina jersey being the "new" jersey. It really hammers it into the heart. It's why to this day I still think the (Florida) Panthers and Toronto Raptors have some of the coolest logos out there.
I had a Panthers lunch box and some Raptors shorts and t-shirts as a kid.

Some of these former designs have become beloved as a product of nostalgia and appreciation for the creativity.
An entire industry could be sustained just off of the nostalgia of millennials.

To me, it's still hard to believe that it was a full-time road jersey for three full seasons (three seasons where the Flames didn't have a red jersey at all).
Geez, I'd completely forgotten that point. The 2003-2004 red was a return to red after three years of horse head black as the away jersey

I teach 7th and 8th grade and the fashion the kids are wearing these days is EXACTLY what I was wearing to high school in the late 90s. Had like three students yesterday in the white t-shirt, baggy, thrift-store flannel button up look. Doc Martens are making a massive comeback too.
I've always thought a white version of the blasty jersey would look sharp. I feel like that would have been more in the spirit of the "reverse" part of "reverse retro" last year.

It does look sharp, but Blasty had to be on a black jersey if they wanted it back as a third. Very rare to have a white alternate jersey

I’d love a white alternate. It would give us a chance to see the other team’s coloured uniforms in person which would be cool.
I’ve always thought they should wear whites at home until the new year and switch to the darks after for playoff runs. Let the fans see all the jerseys.
