You gotta think big picture man. Warmer nights is small potatoes.
Global warming would be amazing for Canada! bring it on.

Also i don't care about sea turtles. I went and bought 2,500 plastic straws last week.

No one mentioned sea turtles… it was the billions of dead that you quoted is odd for you to cheer on.

A lot of that is growth of the airport and urbanization of NE Calgary creating a heat island effect around the weather station so the night-time temperatures don't drop as much. In terms of daily maximum temperatures, in the early part of the 20th Century Calgary experienced a very warm period.

Can't ####ing believe the leaves are going to come off the trees in the next 2.5 weeks.

Autumn is always a nice idea coming out of summer but then it actually happens and it happens so quickly that you just want to rewind to summer immediately.

May these +30 spurts last as long as possible.

What a wonderful day to be outside today. It was like a throwback to the old Calgary where you could do physical activities in 20-24 degrees and it felt glorious.

The 30 **** just ruins golf, softball, running....pretty much anything that isn't sitting on your ass doing nothing.

Can't speak on the rest of the world, but if you move to a subduction zone between two tectonic plates (NA west coast) knowing full well the oceans are on the rise and its the pacific ####ing rim, it's your own fault! Only literally every disaster movie starring the Rock warned you.

This is why you only visit Disneyland, with a nearby chopper on call. You don't live there.

If you moved there- never mind the billions (or many hundred of millions?) that were born there and can’t afford to leave?

Was supposed to be a joking post. You think it's obvious, but apparently for some it's not enough.

I didn't realize some were that stone cold serious around the subject subject of climate change where you have to walk on eggshells to appease them.

Are we supposed to just be pre-mourning the worst case scenario in order to be socially acceptable or is trying to make light of a potentially not great situation allowed these days?

I'm in the camp of we're gonna figure it out because humanity is inventive and resourceful. Unpopular, I know, but I prefer that to the billions will die mindset, because that one's kind of a bummer.

How did I hit such a nerve with you to get you so defensive? A joke went over my head? I re-read it, explain the joke to me please - I still don't get it?

As in it was an unserious post, which you took and responded to as serious with your "what about people born there who can't afford to uproot".

No, looks like low oxygen conditions and high surface temps.

The lake is wayyyyyy higher than it was last year.

And I’m not even sure why. Thankfully it disproportionally affects the poors so us affluent northerners should be fine.

Climate refugees are absolutely going to be a thing going forward, and countries like Canada are going to have to deal with it in the coming years. Geography, topography and climatology don't give a #### about imaginary political lines.

We have water on 3 sides, and 95% of Americans couldn't find Canada on a map, let alone on the ground, so I think it's lower on the "this planet is ####ed" scale than most concerns for us.
