You got gruel? Man...we only got eggos....and they were awful.
I'd have shanked someone for gruel....

That's just crazy, you've clearly never had good homemade waffles then. I will concede that waffles can be made badly, and a thin soggy waffle without the nice crispy outside probably is worse than store-bought.

Get an Edmonton Sucks shirt, great for all seasons/sports/reasons.

I probably haven’t. Homemade waffles either seem to always be either too soggy or too crispy and just something generally off about them. But I’ve had waffles from actual restaurants and diners too and haven’t liked them.
Homemade pancakes, French toast, and crepes? All good.
Waffles? Pop an Eggo in the toaster.

When you're visiting somebody in the hospital, do you kinda feel like they should reimburse you for parking? Like, it's their fault you're out the cash plus it's no fun there.

Parking should be free, but I’d probably blame the government/AHS for it not being that way before I blame a relative who may or may not be in a coma.

We'll have to agree to disagree. Once they're better I'll show them my receipts and at least have the discussion. They may be in there another week, so I'll just keep paying in the meantime.

Larry David could easily insulate himself from reality. He has enough money that he doesnt have to do anything for himself. His comitment to comedy is so deep that hes still out there, driving his own car, making well thought out complaints to minimun wage employees, explaining his personal philosophies to complete strangers, Etc.

I thought some hospitals offered a 1 week "deal"?
Also some hospitals have nearby commercial/grocery shopping areas (such as Calgary's Childrens) where if you're sneaky enough you can park for free for a couple hours. Not a cool move though if parking is tight but if there's a ton of unused parking.

Yeah, you can pay $14.25 / day, or $40 / week. But you have to pay up front, and no allowance to apply your daily receipts towards a weekly deal. So if you're visiting someone in the hospital daily (ie family member) and don't know when they're coming out, you get the quandary of "do I pay $40 today" or "today is the last day so $14.25". This should also go in the gear grinder thread...

Before I blame the government/AHS, I blame people in general.
Too many idiots take advantage of free parking that don't have business at the facility offering the parking, leaving none for the actual customer/visitor.
These places have no choice, usually.

Are you saying people would take advantage of free parking at hospitals? Why? Hospitals aren’t really near anything worth trying to park there for free. Foothills isn’t close enough to anything worthwhile, and PL is next to lots of parking for the malls so nobody would need to use a spot at PL to go shopping at Sunridge.

Why burden them with this undue stress? Just sneak their tap to pay card out of the dresser drawer and say you have to go take a crunch. Go pay, have your visit and they will be none the wiser.
