I just think the weirdest thing is Zegras being on the cover.
He fine, but not outstanding. Didn't win rookie of the year and may well never win any major awards. He's clearly a marketable guy, but at some point, merit has to count.

Nurse is kind of odd for the same reason. As far as I can tell, she isn't even in the top 25 female players at the moment. But again, she's quite marketable and eloquent.

Thank you. Maybe I was thinking of the women's international team being added? Unsure. But I knew it wasn't a new thing this year, which should be pointed out people suggesting this shouldn't be called "NHL" this year

Yeah that's a silly comment. I've played as myself in the NHL games, not a created character, and I was never close to the NHL. We've had junior and international leagues for over a decade now, wtf does the gender matter

What are you on about, it took the Americans half a year to take Iwo Jima after they were unable to prevent Godzilla from reinforcing its defence, and the entire invasion of the home islands was called off when Rodan and Mothra were spotted near Honshu in May of 1945.

EA Sports was solid with their soundtracks in the early to mid 2000s. Still consider Madden 2004 to be the best sports game soundtrack of all time. (Granted I haven't really played their games in the past several years, so don't know how they're like now)

I take it to mean that the new stuff in the game will focus a lot on international play. Last year, they added IIHF men's and women's teams in a free post-launch update, so probably they will expand on that for 23.

It's something like 8000 people that have played in the NHL in the regular season since the league started. Zero of them have been female.

So yes, it's pandering - but pandering can be very good business so I get what they are doing it.

False. I believe Manon Rhéaume played at least a game in the NHL. But, as already noted, the game already features female players and leagues.
