I like that the Jays are being a bit cautious here. Sounds like Ian Happ and David Robertson could be the play. Thor would be a good back end of the rotation arm, they need depth. Yankees want to move Gallo and we could use a lefty power bat, and he has plus defense. Doubt they trade him to us though.

Would like to see the Jays add a power arm for the bullpen.

Oh for sure, he has never really been a big hit for average guy and he can be pitched too. But if he can catch fire for a month he can be a difference maker. If not he is at least a power threat off the bench.

Jays need to add for sure, they can't afford to be cautious in the AL east there are way to many really good teams.

I expect the Jays will make 2 or 3 trades today

(Bull pen and maybe a starter)

Don't forget Machado.

Machado: 10 x $300M total
Tatis: 14 x $340M

Soto $450M+

Going to be $1 Billion of guaranteed between those three contracts.

Damn Padres. You crazy. The amount of assets they have shipped out the last 3 years has to be unparalleled. Always a win when you can add a player like Soto though.

Soto, Machado, Tatis is pretty damn formidable. But that's also 3 pretty big egos sandwhiches into a lineup. Curious to see how it plays out.

Seen Raisel Iglesias as a possibility for the Jays. He would be a great setup guy for Romano.

I cheer for the Jays but the Yankees are so strong that I don't see the point in paying severely inflated prices for some pitching help. Maybe there will be something decent for a reasonable price at the end of the day, but I wouldn't want them to overpay to maybe win 1 round this year.

We are still young and next year might be the year to go all in.... this year definitely not

You know, if the Jays choose to do nothing today I won’t be angry at all. They have several areas to improve, and I’m skeptical this is the year, based on their inconsistency. I’ve come to trust Shatkins over the years and if they think the price is too high to make certain moves, so be it. I think we all know deep down this is probably a Yankees year. Now if they don’t do off-season moves to bolster their pitching, that will be a mistake, but I’m fine with whatever they do or don’t do.

I’m not familiar with him? To give up Groshans is a big thing considering how high they were/are on him internally. I’m a bit scared as I’m not familiar with the name.

I believe the Jays cooled on Groshans quite a bit.

The Toronto Blue Jays are acquiring relievers Zach Pop and Anthony Bass from the Miami Marlins in exchange for infield prospect Jordan Groshans, a source told Craig Mish of SportsGrid.

Toronto will also receive a player to be named later, a source told Sportsnet's Shi Davidi.

The Jays should be adding to their team.

3rd best record in the AL.

Jays rank:

3rd in MLB in total runs scored
3rd in Team OPS
5th in HR
3rd in OBP
1st in team BA

Their pitching has been their achilles heel this year, they need more arms, and another bat for good measure.

Best record during the regular season doesn't guarantee anything in the post season. Braves were an 88 win team during the regular season with a WS ring when it was all said and done.

Just go for it!
