Plus one obvious thing here. Not all of the players fans want the Jays to get can even come here due to their vaccination status. How many players haven’t been able to come to Canada on road trips already this year? 20? 30?

Yeah I wouldn’t mind Noah. Good solid depth that won’t cost too much. Still is 94-95 as a starter so he could presumably be 97 out of pen and useful in the playoffs even if not starting.

Yup Exactly. And he’s not having a bad season at all

Syndergaard is not what he used to be, but he should be able to come in and give some solid innings as a #5 guy.

Some insurance against Kikuchi sucking, and if Kikuchi actually figures it out then it strengthens the pen by moving Stripling back in there.

Shouldn't cost much to acquire either.

I'd love it if they could also get Iglesias to shoulder some high leverage in the pen.

Noah plus a guy like G Soto (Detroit) or Robinson would be ideal for me.

If they don’t trade him, I wonder if the Jays bring up Zulueta sooner rather than later. He seems to have electric stuff and might be as good as some options on the trade market.

Would love Syndergaard. Depth arm with a ton of upside as I think this is his first season back from TJ. Maybe I am also a bit unrealistic in my views of the Jays pitching program but they do seem to get some value out of some of their projects.

Gregory Soto would be huge but he’s going to cost a boatload. Three years of club control won’t be cheap to acquire. There might be a couple of cheaper options from the Tigers. They have an outstanding bullpen. Also, by moving Mancini the O’s are signalling that they are willing to sell…they have some killer relief pitchers.

I haven't seen Syndergaard the past few seasons, but if he's a shadow of himself I'd still be on baord with bringing him in for the bullpen. I still think they're missing that 5th starter, or they need to start swapping 5-6 for bullpen time. What am I missing about Pearson? Last I heard is he had mono. Is he still out from that months back? And Merryweather?

Pearson was working his way back and then had a lat strain that sidelined him again.

Quiet deadline on all fronts so far. A couple moves with notable names but nothing to really move the needle so far. Seems like everyone is waiting for the Soto deal to drop. Personally I'm waiting for the big WTF move that came completely out of left field to happen. There's always one. Also curious where Nelson Cruz will end up. Feels like there hasn't been a deadline in the last decade that he wasn't traded during.

As a rental, he should be relatively inexpensive in acquisition costs. I like it…especially if it leaves plenty of prospect capital for another move.

Yeah, I'll take Thor... 4-5 starter down the stretch and then move him to the bullpen for the playoffs (maybe he can regain some of his velo in shorter stints).

That and a high leverage bullpen guy is all they really need.

The Twins getting Lopez from the O's isn't great because he's a beast. The good news is that we play the O's a ton over the last 60 games so they will certainly be weaker.

and sounds like Soto close to going to Padres. Insane the amount of cash that'd be tied up between him and Tatis.....

Hopefully the Jays pass and spend that money on some starting pitching

Tigers haven’t moved any of their bullpen yet so I guess there’s still that as an option?

Soto and Bell to the Padres. Not sure what the return is yet.
