I feel like almost all players would have a list that looks like this:

1. Edmonton
2. Calgary
3. Winnipeg
4. Ottawa
5. Minnesota
6. Columbus
7. Buffalo
8. Maybe Islanders/Devils/Detroit?
I could see Montreal be on the list for non French players.
Toronto may not be everyone's thing.
Arizona for some although I imagine most athletes would play there as long as the cheques don't bounce.

My dream now is that Pelletier makes the team and plays well enough to get a shot on Hubredeau’s line. The French connection

Some players strategically do it too, block team that might actually want to trade for you

It's more about control than not wanting to go somewhere...every player in the league would like a 31 team list

Depth on defense after Tanev got injured was an issue so I don't see them moving anyone in our top 6. Have Mackey as a #7 and re-sign Stone as #8 and we're set.
Think the flames will be fine with having valimaki in the minors this year. No I don’t think he will be picked up when out on waivers. The only guy I feel bad for is Mackey . Up until a couple days ago he had a legit shot of making bottom pairing.

Nice presser, well spoken, and gives me a good feeling. Their response to signing long term, is fan service to us. What goes on behind the scenes will be what happens. Regardless, signing them, or trading them, the Flames have 2 additional high end assets that they can use to build this team for the short term or long term.

As a fan, I'm very excited and happy, regardless of either outcome.

I lived in the GTA for 5 years and don’t get the appeal at all other than it’s proximity to other places. The city itself is a nightmare of traffic congestion and in the way people. The climate isn’t great either and their market is extremely demanding.

Different strokes for different folks, but Toronto would be number 1 on my no trade list. Great music scene I guess, but I can’t imagine that plays much into consideration for hockey players.

Too much negativity around Calgary as a place to live these days.

Anyway, looking forward to the re-worked Calgary Flames this fall.

Really liked both their responses. Weegar seems like a solid person, well spoken kid.

I like Huberdeau's swagger and mentioning that he hopes Lindy can pot 50 goals with him. Love that ####. Thats right, it's us against the world, Hubs!

Calgary is the best. The people, the mountains, the foothills, the sky, everything.

Depends on the circumstances. If it was me I'd put Winnipeg and Edmonton on the list and the rest of the list would be composed entirely of teams that I think might trade for me (if said list exceeds the number I can submit I'd list the ones that have less advantages tax rates).

So you're saying we need to sign Kessel.

Yes. That is a more realistic body image.

Get it done Wizard!

Flames should start by offering the same contract Johnny signed. Maybe with the extra year. What better comparable is there?

Can anyone explain why these things are still done remotely and not in person? Seems odd not to fly them out here and do the jersey presentation, etc.

I feel like Phil is getting overlooked just because he is big boned and likes hamburgers. Athleticism isn't everything, geez.

All you guys with your NTCs aren't including Arizona? You want to play in a college rink instead of a professional sports arena? :P

I guess life is not bad in Arizona however. Speaking of Arizona - how about we throw $1M at Phil Kessel for the top line :P
