Stay away from Kadri. If Huberdeau signs I rather them be patient and use the cap space next season wisely. And if he doesn't sign were not stuck with Kadris horrible contract. Only way you sign him is on a shorter term deal which is highly unlikely.

I think a puck-mover is the ideal partner for Zadorov at 5v5. Maybe you can pair Weegar with Zadorov on a PK unit.

I agree, Weeger pushes Kylington into the third pair. What an upgrade to our top 4.
Look how good Kylington was with Tanev, and before him Hughes.

Weegar - Tanev both right hand shots
Kylington – Zadorov both left shots
Some tough calls for Sutter with the pairs. IMO you either over play some or keep others minutes down. Guess you’ve to see how they play in the role and make adjustments.

iirc, he only hip surgery last season. Then was off the entire next season. This is the exact same surgery now just on the other hip.

This would be the starting point.... If you can find a way to do it without lindholm Id be shocked.
|
Why would Barzal have more value than Lindholm?

My top wing targets to trade:
Kyrou
P Kane
Pastrnak
Garland
Nyquist
Hoffman
Centers:
Barzal
Scheifele
JT Miller
Schmaltz
For me, the D is set with Weegar and Andersson up top, Kylington/Hanifin - Tanev, and Zadorov - Valimaki/Mackey swapping turns. I think one of Kylington/Hanifin have to go to maximize value.
I would like the lineup to look like this:
Huberdeau - Lindholm - Mangiapane
Dube - Monahan - Toffoli
Pelletier - Backlund - Coleman
Lucic - Ruzicka - Rooney
Lewis, Phillips
Hoping Ruzicka can turn into that 2C. But for now we need one there with 1/2 years left. I want to give Monahan the benefit of the doubt, but I’d also rather have a center that Sutter can trust to play a good offensive game while Lindholm and Backlund can take the tough defensive assignments. Or get one that plays a versatile game so that he and Dube switch off as center/winger.
Hanifin and Monahan would be my ideal guys to trade. I’d rather keep Kylington over Hanifin.

I think Kylington is the odd man out. We need another good forward in addition to Mang and Kylington will be the contract that doesn’t allow us to do that. It’s unlikely they trade or buyout Monahan/Lucic, so I think Kylington will be dealt. Trading Hanifin is too big of a blow to the D in my opinion.

Agree 100%. Don't blow your cap for the next few years on a 32 year old Kadri. There will be better options next off-season.

Kylington isn’t going to land you any assets that move the needle. He isn’t seen as favorably outside our team as perhaps some fans see him. Mid-round pick or B prospect.

Montreal let their new acquisition Matheson tweet out something vague on their twitter account. People assumed they were about to announce a trade or signing but it was just Matheson introducing himself and touring the Habs facilities.
