Team D has improved, greatly, but still not in a position where they can ship Hanifin out and rely on Kylington or Zadorov for 1st pair minutes.
Time to work a trade for a 1RW

Huberdeau-Kadri-Lindholm

Rooney
OK-Tanev
Hanifin-Andersson
Zadorov-Weegar

Lindy's had his best year as center. If anything throw Kadri as 2C the. Slot whoever in. Monahan is not a top 6 player anymore. He was broken after one hip surgery, let alone now with both being done

I think Barzal can be had but the price will be similar to Chucky.
Lindholm, Hanifin, Coranto, 202X 1st Round Pick (Protections)
This would be the starting point.... If you can find a way to do it without lindholm Id be shocked.

I would go as far as replacing the second with a first and maybe another B prospect. But I wouldn’t give up lindy

What? I don't trade Lindholm for Barzal let alone the rest. That is one of the worst proposals I have seen on here and that's saying something.

It wasn't a proposal, I was responding to the other guys offer saying that it would be a chucky esk type return and that's how it would be shaped up.
I would never do it either.
Go back to your hole.

I’m not going to call that the worst. Give him a break. He just saw the price for Chuck. However from our perspective if i had the power. My personal limit would be Hanafin + coronato + a 1st + a B prospect

He was playing injured for most of the last 2 seasons. It's possible that he could still be an effective #2C with 2 repaired/healed hips.

Still need a RW. What is the rumored ask for Puljujarvi? Id love for him to pop off here. That would be icing on the cake. The Athletic claims his career trajectory comparable is Chris Krieder so the numbers still show some upside.

Columbus just traded Bjorkstrand for a 3rd and a 4th. If thats the ceiling for a Puljujarvi trade right now, Holland will just hold.

Steinberg said that he had 5 or 6 sources tell him that Kadri's camp told the Flames they are an unlikely destination for him last week.
Kadri does replace that pest, in your face, get under your skin, and swagger they lost with Tkachuk. But he is 32 years old and $ and term ask is going to be large.
Doubtful IMO that he changes his mind and comes here unless the Flames are somehow the highest bidder over his top destinations by a fair margin.

Unless adding Huberdeau+Weegar helps change his mind as well.

Pretty big gap between Puljujarvi and Bjorkstrand. Puljujarvi you get hoping he pops under a new coaching staff, namely a head coach that is known for player development.
Doubt the two teams swap underwhelming prospects straight up, but Valimaki for Puljujarvi makes some sense to me

Maybe Nylander is missing his "Home Town".
We have a very secure supply chain of Göteborgs willy.

I actually don't mind it but I couldn't do it just on the slim chance Valimaki becomes a real defensemen

Maybe trade Kylington for a suitable partner for Z, a Gudbranson type, plus something else.
|
I think the obvious partner for Weegar is Tanev.
Weegar – Tanev
Hanifin – Andersson
Kylington – Zadorov
I think a puck-mover is the ideal partner for Zadorov at 5v5. Maybe you can pair Weegar with Zadorov on a PK unit.

I don't agree. As zadorov likes to skate with the puck.

I can see the Flames moving Kylington. If they move Hanifin, it is because they had a talk with him and he also doesn't want to say in Canada, otherwise I think they keep him. With Meloche and Mackey, and Valimaki maybe not being a favourite of Sutter, Flames may trade both.
Weegar - Tanev
Hanifin - Anderrson
Meloche - Zadorov
Mackey - Stone (until he signs somewhere else, I expect he stays)
