I know it’s a long ways away at this point but it is protected, the first round pick gets pushed to 2026. If it does, that 2026 pick is no longer protected. If Florida ended up with a top 10 pick in 2025, they could also finish in a similar spot the following year.

It’s 3-4 years out so hard to focus on the potentials of it. But it being a first round pick makes a valuable asset either way.

Huberdeau posted on Instagram from Montreal yesterday and Weegar is from Ottawa, so there's a good chance that's where he is. If they were going to fly one or both of them in today, there are multiple direct flights available.

The YYC schedule has a couple flights from Montreal coming in before 11:30, plus one that landed about an hour ago. For Ottawa, there were a couple of flights that landed between 9 and 9:30, then nothing until later.




It would be a big splash to have them in person today (especially with nice contract extensions in hand), but I suspect if they do talk to the media, it will be over the phone/Zoom.

It sounds like Tkachuk will be talking to the press in Florida on Monday.

Toffoli.... He played with Suzuki the year before he came to us and potted 28goals. He's a trigger man that needs to play with a puck distributer and carrier....both which he never got here. Mang/Backs/Coles was a good solid line throughout, would rather keep them together.
