Even if I wanted to rebuild, I do this trade 100%.
They got better assets to trade for picks and prospects. If that is required.
But let’s see what happens and enjoy the trip.

I watched them probably 60 plus games. The Panthers didn't have any options when Ekblad went down so they ran with him. What the stats don't tell you is the quality of the mistakes which were straight up awful at times. Someone said Brodie and that's a pretty good comparison.

What do you give a 29 year old Huberdeau in an extension? He's a smart shifty player, so he's not as banged up as most 29 year old NHLers. Do we give him 9.5x8?

I haven't seen anyone talk about this on here yet but any indication as to why Florida wanted to move on from Huberdeau? Franchise guy, top talent, seems odd. Just curious if he had indicated that he wasn't resigning with the team or something. Perhaps they just wanted to get someone younger? Cap constraints?

Probably felt if they were going to commit to that money and term, they do it with a younger guy to extend their window longer.

I'd like to know what Florida says to that lol.
|
Florida wouldn’t even accept the trade 1 for 1 and told me to not bother wasting their time. I posted a screenshot of the deal and it wouldn’t go through because the Flames would have too many skaters but the value wasn’t even half of what Florida gave.

Gaudreau's agent should be taking notes.

I wouldn't have been happy with Tkachuk signing at 8 X 9.5M here.
Avoiding that alone is already a positive, let alone getting back this bounty. Still can't believe this trade is real.

We definitely will give him that
They struggle in the playoffs and want to make changes. They weren’t going to trade Barkov

Reason: Bill Zito. I'm guessing Barry Zito is probably more of a Sharks fan.
