It wasn't an insult. It means don't claim the other isn't enjoying themselves because you don't relate.

Yeah Keith knows about playing in Canada, and a couple months removed from sitting in the stands amongst the fans to see Game 7 OT winner and BOA, and part of that Canadian atmosphere for playoff hockey and hockey in general…and going on stage in a parking lot in playoffs with his family to adoring fans because of his son.
He knows that no matter what and how far Florida gets in Matthew’s time there, even if it’s to the cup, that the fanbase and overall atmosphere in Florida will never match the playoff (and reg season) time he and the family spent in Calgary.
Players have to be pumped. They all had relationships for years with JG and MT and now they have players to fill in those holes quickly, and a GM backing the team up who can pull this and future moves off to keep the team in the current window with Darryl.

I am not as worried about them holding on without an extension. There's no history here and if they say no then Tre trades them. Gaudreau was a different animal

Some people enjoy cognac and Chaucer. Some people enjoy cat vids.

whatever dude
If I posted the exact trade in the rumors yesterday you would have been the one of the posters mocking it and saying "wow are you guys going to be disappointed"
anyway even you can't kill my buzz tonight, have a good one

Call it what you will, I miss Tkachuk already. The day he put on the Calgary sweater was fantastic. The day the team told him he was full time was fantastic. Guys like him don't come around too often these days. That whole division collectively sighed tonight. Calgary truly lost a heartbeat tonight also. Good luck You ass hole. I'm rooting for you.

Nothing is certain. Just gotta enjoy what you got. Even if they made the perfect trade in your eyes, whatever that might be, it could still go ass up. Any trade can.
To me, whether they keep Huby and Weegar or not, it’s a good trade. Guys who can contribute in the ice and return value down the line if things are panning out. Can’t ask for much better than that.

Some comments from Canucks fans on Daily Hive Vancouver's Facebook:
"That’s seems like a pretty good trade for Calgary."
"Calgary just robbed Florida"
"Flames won this one by a mile … kid is second to Eichel ….. good luck Florida."
"Wow great deal by the Flames!"
"Good trade both ways"
"Not a Flame fan but ya they won this trade. Tkachuk is over-rated. Huberdeau is not."
Delusional:
"It's good watching the Shames collapse before our very eyes."
"Say hello to last place Calgary"
"Canucks now got competition with the flames for the worst Canadian franchise next year!"
"With vegas and Calgary both imploding in on themselves this off-season I now see an easy playoff appearance for Vancouver next season regardless of trading Miller or not. Despite being one of the worst preforming divisions in the league I can easily say Edmonton Vancouver and LA are now the strongest teams in the pacific."

agreed...if the 2 separate trades were:
JG for Huberdeau - 1 for 1
MT for Weegar, prospect, 1st round pick
we would clearly win #1 and might be even for #2?
love this trade!!!!

I haven't read all of this thread yet just due to sheer excitement, but that's my mission tonight! lol
I said the only way that the Flames can legitimately compete again this year is trading Tkachuk for another star, and I said that rarely ever happens any longer. Wow!
Raise your hand if you saw something like this coming?
Ok, so Huberdeau is not signed - that's ok. If he doesn't extend, well, you trade him at the deadline. Hopefully Treliving can extend him though - Huberdeau is a high-end talent. Defence is uprgraded too, plus a 1st?? Sure, it is 3 years out, but maybe Florida is on the downswing by then.
I really like this trade. Really gives the Flames options - contend, if Huberdeau doesn't re-sign then retool/rebuild. Really, at worst Treliving just bought himself more time.
As for "Tkachuk isn't that good" - LOL. I am ok with him leaving as I don't want a captain to also be a rat, but Tkachuk is an ultimate pro in every facet. This trade proves how valuable he is. Sure, his contract status makes him more valuable than Huberdeau, but Huberdeau is one of the NHL's premier superstars.
This is nothing short of freaking amazing!

Late here, not sure if it’s been properly said from the initial comments I read…
Huberdeau is fantastic (understatement), but locking up Weegar long term will ultimately make this a slam dunk.

The other nice thing is the Flames probably get around to a lot of other business now that this colossal domino has fallen.
Bring on Huby, Eat Bread and Kylington long term extensions.
Maybe another FA add too.
Hopefully something tomorrow. Don't even waste time.

I really think a Huby extension is coming...with all the interest the Flames had they had to have talked contract with him
or maybe the deal was so good they couldn't send it to the league fast enough

I really would be ok if Tkachuk gets a standing O in his first game back.
He was a fantastic draft pick, a great player, and did the organization a huge solid by giving them a heads up and letting Treliving get a massive haul in return.
He could have screwed the Flames over, but didn't. Big respect.

Honestly I think both Tkachuk and Barkov will miss Gaudreau and Huberdeau respectively next year.
Both guys are still elite and great 200ft players, but think they both lose a little offensive pop without those guys.
