It’s real. And it’s spectacular.

And just like with Brodie when he was here people fixate on the 1% of bad plays a guy makes and ignore that he’s great 99% of the time.
Except that Weegar is much much better than even Brodie was in that 99% of the time.
Elite puck movers take risks some times that end up bad. Why even guys like Karlsson, Doughty and Subban got criticized for it but end up winning Norris trophies still.

He really wasn't but is looking to get paid like one. But Sutter will get the best out of him like Q did, I can imagine.
Huby is 30 if Calgary signs him and is looking for a massive contract. Great player but tough to sign seems like.

So the first is top ten protected not just lottery protected.
That just ruins this whole thing!

A Brodie who hits and has a lot more blocked shots!
179 and 156 last season! I'll take that any day.

Treliving is gonna pull out all the stops to sign these guys. He knows he has to. And we know he didn’t cheap out on Gaudreau, so I expect he will give an overpay to make sure this trade lasts.

I'd also guess that while these guys love the adoration when they're on the ice, the anonymity while living your day-to-day life has appeal too.

Meh, it's $76MM with less tax, nice weather, a committed owner, decent team. St L would be in his dad's shadow anyways. Carolina he would've been just as anonymous. Who knows about the validity of Dallas and Vegas etc.
His parents are building a house in FLA too.

Is there a player in the league you can't say that about?
Just as you shouldn't judge a player on his highlight reel, you also shouldn't judge on the lowlights.

As someone else just said, this trade is so much fun. Just so much fun.
Traded Tkachuk. And the constant chewing of his mouthguard
A defense man who makes some brain farts but still ended up with nearly 50 points who may be comparable to Giordano in his prime.
A well he's too old for us replacement for Gaudreau who is the same age as Gaudreau, who many wanted to re sign
A first round pick that ..well...it's a year or two from now
This is an actual hockey trade. And it's so much fun given the circumstances - a star player who said "trade me" to a very small number of teams.
So much fun.

I would've taken and been happy with the debunked Kyrou, retained Krug, and 1st for Tkachuk.
I guess that's why I'm not an NHL GM.
