EVERYONE INVOLVED IS A UFA NEXT YEAR, YES - THIS INCLUDES TKACHUK. If you assume Tkachuk AND Hubes AND Weegs won't/don't sign extensions in Calgary we effectively net up a prospect and a first, since Tkachuk also could have been dealt at the deadline (so don't use that to inflate Hube/Weeg value) assuming net/net value between the exchanged roster players for this season.

Still would have preferred to lock Tkachuk up vs. this shi-tshow where no one wants to sign in Calgary. I still think Tre has royally eff-d up the last year with Johnny/Tkachuk and creating an environment where we're less desirable than......Edmonton *sobs*

Why are we talking about the negativity crowd?

Let’s focus on the issue at hand.

Huberdeau is every bit as good as Gaudreau but with an edge

He is a beauty

Did Huberdeau have a NTC?

Weegar probably a 1st and second as well.

So it could turn into like 4 1sts plus potentially.

They won’t just let them walk or else they would have just given Tkachuk the 1 year deal and walked it back
What are the odds that they make that trade if we're even sniffing the playoffs though? this could end up OK but it could also end very badly if they both walk for nothing next year.

Huberdeau is a better player than Tkachuk guys, plus a great defence man and futures? Cleaned up here.

Either extend Huberdeau right now or retain 2M and sell him for a massive haul.

Is it though? Initially, I thought it was awesome, but it’s two guys who are UFAs in a year and a first in three years (conditionally). Might not be all that amazing.

Although having guys in contract years can inspire some good effort!

Not everyone is going to like the moves made by the team. Sorry some people have different hopes for the team.

In Calgary? I’m curious… why?

That’s the first I’ve heard of him spending any time in Calgary or even Alberta in the summer…

Give it a rest, you bitching about the negative people is one of the more negative things here.

Tkachuk was so close with Sam and was unhappy when he was traded. Gotta think they are both happy with this.

That is a hell of a deal by Brad. If they sign Huberdeau they won this by a country mile.

Treliving must have some confidence in re-signing at least one of them I think. He's not interested in getting picks, he still wants to win now.

Huberdeau-Lindholm-?
Huberdeau is an incredible passer, almost passes too much ala Gaudreau. I'd like to see Toffoli play with him and make use of his shot

We also have too many NHL defenseman at this point. Valimaki needs to clear waivers to be sent down, IMO we might see him involved in a trade

Hanifin - Andersson
Kylington - Tanev
Zadorov - Weegar

Weegar is much better than a bottom pairing guy, he might even be our most talented dman now, but we can run a very balanced defense core
