That video about how close the rioters got to Pence was off the chain BONKERS.

This guy is beyond mentally unfit to run for office again. Well, you'd think so, anyways. But America isn't doing so well right now so who knows.

Oh, he's definitely running again. And sadly he's probably gonna win.
Even if team blue gets out and votes in record numbers, it still won't be enough to overcome the insane amount of voter suppression, gerrymandering, and outright cheating that the GOP will engage in. I honestly believe that we're witnessing the last gasp of America as we once knew it.

I disagree; I think DeSatis will be the GOP nominee.

There a growing divide in the Republican party where people want to move away from Trump and his Big Lie to a focus on the problems in America today. His popularity is dropping while DeSantis is getting stronger.

Republican Representative Nancy Mace backed a bill Thursday that would codify protections for contraception access in the U.S. into federal law, and took a stand against a proposed strict abortion ban in her state that includes almost no exceptions.

Trump is enough of a trainwreck as is without the over-the-top editorializing. #### like this is exactly why people stop trusting the media.

Lashing out may be pushing it, but he's not far off. He's having a hissy fit over silly things. He's a man child.
Rupar's not a hack.

Dude is absolutely a partisan hack. Compare the level of editorializing when he tweets or reports on Trump/Republicans with his reports on Biden/Democrats.

what is the appropriate level of attention/editorializing required for each of these sides? one is at worst greedy, self-serving, and disorganized, while the other is straight up hellspawn.
I'm curious because you post a lot more about Democrat transgressions in the name of accountability, while the Republican-led slide into Gilead seems to not interest you as much.

No editorializing would be great if your goal is journalism. I get that doesn't generate as many clicks, but it's a lot more honest. Let people read the facts and form their own decisions.

Because there's nothing productive about an echo-chamber and Democrats need to do some soul-searching on why they're completely unpalatable to a good portion of the country.

this is ok I guess, though to me waiting for the Democratic Party to turn into the ideal version of itself, given what American society, economics, and politics are built from, is kind of like me waiting for Margot Robbie to return my phone calls. would be great if it happened, but I'd rather root for something that could realistically happen in my lifetime.

They're not going to get any better if people don't hold them accountable.

Rube isn't fighting against the Democrats per se, he's fighting against their inability to be dragged further right by the constant pull of the Overton Window.

this makes sense, though often the posts aren't so much "Team Donkey is messing this up and they need to straighten out before it's too late", but more like "Enjoy losing the midterms and 2024 election, losers!"
there's a certain bit of glee in pointing out Democratic shortcomings that reads differently than fighting for what's right, if you're not intimately familiar with his stance. some of them in isolation, if I had to tell whether they were Rube or Yoho, I'm not totally certain I'd be able to decide.

That's not glee. It's frustration.

You and Rube don’t seem to realize how moderate most Democrats are. I doubt a third of Democrats would pass your litmus test for progressive beliefs.

The republicans will be running a fascist one way or the other, it's what their base wants. Whether it's the old favourite fascist or a new, more competent fascist, they won't care.
