not sure what the lol is about but that is certainly debatable...Lindholm was the responsible one and still put up 82 points.

All three of them played far better together than apart...Guadreau's game went to another level when Lindholm arrived. Tkachuk's did when he joined the top line.

also, assuming they get a haul for Tkachuk and have tons of space...its certainly possible to have a better TEAM next season

Will I guarantee 112 points and 2+ wins in the 2nd round...no, but that is the high water mark after 8 years of trying for the last group.

That's essentially where I'm at with this situation.

If the Flames can pry Kyrou and Tarasenko out of the Blues (in addition to a 1st round pick and whatever else), that's a pretty decent top line with Lindholm between them.

Johnny was undisputed the best on the line

Arguable between Lindholm and Tkachuk but Tkachuk had more points
Same when Monahan was on the line.

The lol was for it’s not a good comparison. Kopitar was their undisputed franchise player

I like this, but I like a full blown reset better. I also trust Darryl and the harder it gets the more invested he seems to become.

Lindholm was voted the 2nd best defensive player in the NHL...points aren't everything

Doughty might dispute Kopitar's franchise player tag. Maybe even Quick with his Smythe.

Never said he is not good. He is just not a franchise player as there are 2 players better than him

Anyway, he has plenty of opportunities to prove he is the man now. Let’s see.

Everyone assumes Tarasenko would waive to Calgary. And he probably would bounce immediately after a year even if he did. Seems like prolonging the inevitable at best, makes no sense.

Although he'd be one hell of a cap dump.

Yeah, with a deal for the Blues you almost wish it's a three way trade where another team gets Tarasenko with Flames retaining but more likely he's a rental (if the Flames are out by then).

I mean I was just looking at his stats, 34 goals and over PPG. He's not a cap dump lol.

If Tarasenko was part of the trade then he would be mostly a cap dump and traded at the deadline for a draft pick.

Flames are going to make the playoffs. You can take that to the bank.

Building a top line for next season shouldn’t be the priority when dealing an asset like Tkachuk.

Yeah if they plug in Kyrou and Tarasenko, I don’t see how people would say we’d miss the playoffs.

Tarasenko is great, I'd be ok with extending him if he'd stay. Zadorov might be a big help.

Kyrou is a requirement from STL though.

I agree. Fans are going to have a 2004-style love affair with this year’s team.

This team will have a very clear and purposeful identity. I think they’re gonna be awesome to watch.
They’re going to hound pucks like nobody’s business.
