The crowds were bad last year because of Covid. I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re even worse this season.

You can't replace those 2 guys right now, but you can burn it down and do this right.

Not an easy thing to try and throw together and feel good about what you are getting back or then have to deal.

I am unsure of the NYR cap situation, but they are a team I could see being interested. They took a big step forward last season and I think they might go full into window-mode. Plus, I don't think a one-year deal worries them. They are probably confident that they could sign anyone.
I realize Laf and Kakko haven't broken out yet, but they would still be tempting pieces IMO given their age, potential, and cost control.

But how does that get them a full building and 2-3 home playoffs games every season. That's all they care about. This org doesn't actually give a #### about building a winner. They'll never make the hard decision.

At this point I’m more concerned about how they hit the cap floor next year when Monahan and Lucic are up. No big FAs are going to want to come to Calgary and a lot of the players who are stuck in Calgary are going to want out.

This has never been a problem for any team and it won't be for Calgary. There are always overpaid players on bad contracts that teams are looking to unload.
Free agents have signed here every year and will next year if the team is willing to pay the going rate.

massive contracts from players on LTIR are traded every season. The Flames will have no issue reaching the floor.

We will see it again, but not with the name Tkachuk on the back of the jersey. Learning from Pops example, those boys won't leave a nickel on the table

If we go rebuild, which i think we should if Tkachuk leaves, we take on bad contracts for draft picks and prospects.

My god we are the Canadian version of the Coyotes... next we will hear the dome is unsafe and the team will be playing home games at Winsport.

That is cause Tkachuk is at least being honest and not being a dick if this is how it goes down.

If they spent $60M on this team instead of $80M, that surely offsets the difference between 2-3 home playoff games.

If we can’t keep a guy that we drafted and developed at 24 years old coming off a 105pt personal and 111pt team season in addition to losing Johnny, then the whole thing is broken. Blow it up and pray for a Connor of our own.

Well, I don't see how the Flames are going to make the playoffs after losing 200+points of offense
