I wonder if he had no contact with other trams? Expected a big offer and when one didnt come he settled rather then come crawling back?
Im in disbelief. He has to know he will never win there right? In that division he never make the playoffs again

I think Treliving over played his hand and pissed Johnny off. We never got confirmation that flames offered 8x 11M. Maybe Treliving low balled throughout the entire process.

After the news yesterday that Gaudreau won’t be re-signing with the Flames, I was expecting an announcement that he was going to the Flyers or Devils and now this to Columbus?
What’s his agent like, this almost sounds like not a well thought out plan and why weren’t there other teams interested as far as we know? He must not have liked it here very much.
Oh well, it is what it is, good luck Johnny.

It has to be that he expected Philly and NJ to step up, and Philly actually stepped away and NJD put forth a stink bid to see if he’d bite. He screwed the pooch. And while Treliving was polite about it I imagine he’d had enough of Gross and his game playing even if he got a call.
