I tend to agree but let’s remember they ended up with f all to show for any of it. It got them nowhere. There’s no model there to follow at all.

The Oilers are Cousin Eddie who won lotto-max. They were and are no good.

Which multiverse are you from where the Flames rebuild?

They aren't no good right now. They're behind Colorado, but it's getting closer. They're as formidable as any team in the West.

Maybe you will get a Draisaitl jersey from Santa for Christmas

How many teams actually have done that? Is this ‘typical Flames’, or just typical NHL?

The sinking feeling I have is that he wants to go to the UFA market and let teams bid war for his services. Same with Mangiapane.

What if JG does sign with the Devils, do they try to trade for Chucky?

if so, Devils have 3 young centers and their 2023 1st round pick. Is there any way both teams can make something work?

Mercer + 2023 1st round for Thachuk? or something along those lines?

or if Nico does not want to give #13 jersey to Johnny, they ship him to Calgary!

Or maybe we can still hate our rivals but not let it objectively blind us.

Can't be slower than Lucic, could he?

He might extend on one of those 5 teams, but it would depend on the price.

I expect he'll want to go UFA anyway, unless someone overpays badly in advance.

Playing hardball with Tkachuk will not get you anywhere. He has all of the leverage.

Don't go into a gunfight with a jack knife.

Sign Klingberg. Move Tkachuk for some good pieces, then pillage Vegas. That’s my hope.

they need to build a coherent strategy.

And since that coherent strategy will inevitably be to blow it up, they need to blow it up.
