No, if he accepts 10.2 x 7 that means he was never going to sign here.
We can offer him the most money by far. This decision isn’t about money.
I have a feeling Johnny would happily stay here but is under significant pressure from his family to come back east, which is totally fair. This is a life decision and he’s going to do what’s best for his family.

LeBrun apparently said flames could trade his rights to front runner if they get firm no from Johnny. Seems like time for that is running short.

Do we know that this guy actually tipped the Hamilton signing besides that he said he did.

It likely is not about what he wants but where he wants to be

Yes. And that is all factored into the numbers. Historically speaking this is how it works, largely because hockey is such a team game. I have no doubt that the Flames will experience a drop in scoring, but they were one of the highest scoring teams in the league. In the worst cases this has tended to result I'm around a 25% loss in overall production, but most often is much closer to 10%.

If that's the offer he signs, then it was never about the money. Perhaps his pregnant wife wasn't sure about taking care of a newborn thousands of miles away from family and friends if her husband is unable to help most of the time for 9 months of the year. In NJ, they are both much closer to family and friends, and that can make the job a lot easier.

It's curious to me that *anyone* believes some rando on Twitter when not one actual professional in sports or sports media has any info at all.
Bizarre.
Patiently tapping F5 here and Twitter. Don't expect news until 9:57 MT.

Well a pregnant wife and her desire to be close to family will do that.

Johnny's contribution to his line's production is already measured. It's a thing called assists.
I would expect a math god to have taken this into account.

On behalf of randos everywhere, I resent that remark.
I personally believe that tweet was made by a doofus.

Well if we do lose him hopefully we try to sign guys earlier on in the process. Calgary is similar to a Columbus in that it is not a destination that most players are clamouring to go to. Need to be a little more strategic in the future.

Yep. I wouldn't give it much credence either. He did tweet out the Hamilton signing details correctly on July 27 last year, one day before it was announced, but it's not much to go on in terms of assurance that he's got info on this situation.
