I bet Gaudreau spends more of his money in the US than Canada even while playing for the Flames. Between going back to the US during the offseason, traveling and away games.
In any case, this is coming down to the wire.

If he hits the open market it could be days (weeks?) before he signs anywhere. Teams that want to take a run will need to clear cap space. Unless he wants to play for the Devils.
