Rogers Services Down Nationwide
Canada's "largest and most reliable network" has been down across the country now for about 90 minutes and for some reason, they haven't been able to issue a statement yet about the outage.
Rogers is trending #1 in Canada!

Yep this is ####ing up a lot of aspects of my company and our affiliates. I'm shocked that we're mid-morning in Eastern Canada and they still haven't filed a press release.

So, how sinister do we think this really is?

Well, they had the same issue last April, so incompetence?

How long was the outage last year? Also I'm pretty sure that one was cell service only, not their internet as well. They're clocked over 6.5 hours now

If we let our imaginations run wild and this was a cyber attack by the Russians, does that constitute "an attack on NATO" and triggers Article 5?

This is really messing up my workday, and not just in my industry but also healthcare and others across the GTA. People can't make 911 calls successfully.
Telus and Bell licking their lips at all the Rogers defections coming their way.

Apropos of nothing, I work for the only national Telus partner in Canada.
Holla at me.

Which partner? Perhaps best to share if others want to make the switch.
For as much flak as they get sometimes, I LOVED Telus internet when I was in Alberta. Wish I could get that infrastructure / fibre / stability out here in the GTA (and not use Bell).

There are many, many things to hate about Telus. But I have owned all services and there's is still the best. I would NEVER tell this to my telus agent, who i have to harass yearly for minor discounts.

We haven't been able to communicate with any of our Rogers account managers or technical support because, surprise surprise, they all run on Rogers.
Hearing that corporate is in chaos as all the staff use Rogers for work, all the exec use Rogers for mobile, etc. nobody can communicate internally or reach anyone.

Meanwhile there's some dude sitting there sweating because they ran a command in the wrong terminal window bringing the whole system down rather than their own test system.

The airline industry is similarly ill-equipped. Canadian North has pretty much given up for the day. Air Canada has been in shambles all summer so it's less noticeable but EVERYTHING for them runs on Rogers and they are screwed. I haven't seen a mess like this in a while.

This is yet another argument not to allow the Rogers - Shaw buyout to complete.
