Its not in their best interests to potentially dissuade stars from playing their just to save face.
I also don't believe you get your best deal if you leak that the player you want to move has already told you he isn't staying.

I think leaks are 80% agents 18% friends and family and 2% team. The 2% is Edmonton.

To what end. If the end output is the same that as playes mature and reach free agency they don't want to be there.
How does a rebuild solve that?
Their core is still relatively young and they have a good prospect base coming. I suspect we will see an injection of young players into the line-up.
But a re-build right now for where that roster is? Nope not happening.
Re-builds are not solutions for everything.

Dubois might also be a guy who has had the unfortunate luck of bouncing from one bad locker room to another. I seem to recall Columbus being rumored to have some issues, and the number of guys who couldn't wait to leave that team over the years doesn't exactly throw water on that fire.
I know the most likely situation is that Dubois is a problem child himself, but it also wouldn't surprise me if the locker room issues of the Jets played as much or more of a role.

I don't get the love for Josh Anderson. His production is not inline with his contract as he lacks any elite skills. If Montreal could get the 13th overall pick for him that's a homerun.

For some teams, his value is in his physical game and ability to retrieve pucks. You put him with smaller skilled forwards without being a liability. What I don't understand is why Montreal would move him, when they have nothing but small skilled forwards.

Probably something to do with the 2023 draft and wanting to situate themselves as best as possible to make an impactful, and high selection.

Anderson has always seemed to have high value in the league, but if the Habs can get the 13th overall pick for him, it would be a solid solid return.

I could see Barzal having some good chemistry with Anderson.
13th overall seems a bit much though. I’d be trying for a 2nd + a B prospect instead. Or a conditional 1st/2nd pick in 2023 based on playoff berth.

Montreal has no reason to move him, and it seems like there is demand for Anderson. I doubt that even gets a phone call returned.

Aren’t they the ones that put him in the block in the first place? Anderson’s value is not a 1st round pick. Any GM that is willing to offer a teens pick for that hefty contract is out of their mind.

Anderson costs 600k more than Coleman with the same term remaining. Coleman is almost 2 years older.

Josh Anderson is one of the most overrated players in the league.
Yeah he does have a unique skill set, but players like him are always the ones who get overrated

He is a secondary player. Good addition if you already have a core.
Expect him to carry the line and any significant offensive contributions is stupid

Honest question, what this supposed to mean? Why is Coleman brought into the discussion about Anderson not worth a 13th OA pick?

His 200 ft game is far better, Andersen has the size but he can also be a disaster defensively, personally I would rather Pageau but due to injury history I don't like either contract.
