The 2 Oilers that matter are 25 and 26- they are certainly in their prime, and it is fair to say at an age where they would still be learning by these experiences. The 3rd member of the 'big 3' I suppose Nurse is 27 and same boat
Younger players of note I guess include McLeod (who had a good playoffs at times) age 22, Bouchard 22, Yamamoto 23 and Puju 23 (the latter 2 rumored to be amongst those who could be getting squeezed if Kane re-ups)
notable players playing key roles in the playoffs included Smith- 40, Kane 30, and Hyman turning 30 this week
I'll leave the likes of Keith, Ryan, Kassian out of the conversation
"Young Oilers" it is a confusing narrative. 2 or 3 great players (I'm being generous to Nurse not sure why) in their prime, a smattering of young players that are probably akin to most NHL teams, and a bunch of old to really old guys some in very key roles
to put it another way, Draisaitl will be 27 this fall. Gretzky won his LAST cup at 27. I'm not saying Drai can never win one (somewhere else I hope) but the young thing can't hold much longer
