the problem is that a lot of these actors have been saddled with crappy scripts and direction the past few years (TLJ, RoTS, Discovery, Picard) so many of the characters turned out crap, white or not. but then the racists see that as their chance to jump in and attack the actors themselves, so between that and actual legitimate criticism you get a giant toxic mess.
good of Ewan to address it directly, but sadly nothing will make these online dickweeds go away in Star Wars or any other franchise.

Tbh I’m not into Star Trek so I didn’t notice. But I guess fandoms in general just suck

I’m really glad they got Vader's voice cadence more in line with how he spoke in the OT, he sounded kinda off in Rogue One in comparison. Great episode!

I have to think they used the same AI technology for JEJ's voice as they did with Mark Hamill's. That sounded almost exactly like Vader's voice in the OT as opposed to how he sounded in Rogue One and Rebels.

That doesn't mean it wasn't the AI. Mark Hamill is also credited in BOBF even though they used the program to recreate his voice.

Whatever you do, don’t go anywhere near Rick and Morty.

Really liked episode 3.
I was expecting a bit of a bigger moment with the light saber reveal for Obi, but I also liked how it was just a straight reaction from fear.
He is his own worst enemy right now, and it's great acting.

Yeah Ewan has been absolutely fantastic so far. Best part of the show (as he should be).

Yup, and O'Shea Jackson Jr. has been cast in a role that still hasn't been confirmed, so people have been speculating he might be Vos.
When Ingram started receiving the racist crap, Jackson tweeted out that those people aren't going to like it when they see what his character does.
The only problem is that Vos should be about the same age as Obi-Wan, if not older, and Jackson is only in his early 30s. This series takes place about 20 years after The Phantom Menace and Vos already had a Padawan in the TPM time frame.

Isn’t it great? Vader is so menacing in this. I love how he stalked Obi-Wan like he was jason, or Michael Myers.

My favorite part of episode three was the architecture. This series has felt more "Star Wars" than Boba Fett. The inquisitors need an HQ - "I know, let's make it a giant floating metronome on a water planet"
Even the new planet they took Leia to (the one that was the Tokyo underworld) felt more organically Star Wars than the speeder bike gang in Boba Fett.

The Inquisitor's HQ (Fortress Inquisitorius is it's name, lol) design is the same in the Jedi: Fallen Order video game.

Well that escalated quickly. Am a little stunned at what I just watched.
I liked Reva’s character a lot more through this episode. Perhaps it is with Vader, there is no expectation for her to be the ultimate villain. Vader is just as evil as it gets here.

Very cool episode but wtf was happening with that tunnel? How did Tala not bump into Reva on the way back, and how did Reva beat Leia to the end of it?

I liked that episode. Didn't love it, but the characters were outstanding here along with the exchanges. Reva being less at the forefront (but lurking in the shadows as an instrument of Vader) helps the dynamic of the show a lot, she was a little more calculating here and not just being reckless and disregarding orders left and right.
Vader is done with love and care (and accuracy) here, and I like that.
And imagining Hayden beneath the suit just adds to it.
Obviously this first run-in is just to whet our appetites. I personally just didn't like the planet/setting it took place on. It would've been cooler in that Hong Kong place.
Just looked like a set out in the Cali desert, same as half the "planets" in Mando/Boba Fett. I'd love a little more variance and space feel to the locations. Perhaps I'm just being picky.
The use of fire for torture was brutal, and a nice touch. Very much what you would imagine from a younger Vader hungry for revenge.

I loved it.
The reaction to Anakin/Vader coming down the street straight out murdering a kid and dragging that helpless woman along, was an amazing visual. As well as Vader's talk with Reva. Do well you will be rewarded, fail me and die.
We got used to the Vader from the OT, who halfway though ESB lost his brutality and became a sad train wreck of a man behind a mask who had lost everything and found a son which gave him that spark of humanity.
We saw angry brutal Vader in Rebels, not even his former Padawan could draw out the spectre of Anakin.
There was no Anakin last night, that was clear. This is Darth Vader through and through, Brutal, Angry, filled with absolute darkness and hate. Even the way he fought Ben, there was no elegance to it, Vader straight out brawled him and over powered him. He was fighting with anger and hatred and no fear.
So why did Obi-Wan get away. I mean Vader had shown he could snuff out Flames. Remember what Vader said. "Your suffering is just beginning". Ben is going to have to run, he bears the scars of the first fight, and Ben has not only seen what Anakin is, and he's going to feel guilt over that, but he knows that Vader is on his tail. This is literally Vader prolonging the hunt.
Reva was better last night. I think she's really seen as ambitious but weak by the surviving Inquisitors. That's a mistake. But Leia was really the star of the show along with Ewan. She was sweet, cutting, smart, brave My heart broke a little when she asked Obi if he was her real father.
Spare thoughts
- How often do we see a dude getting cut in half in a Star Wars show?
- The brutal mind set of the inquisitors was on full display as we see youngling helmets and lightsabers on display in the back ground of their meeting room.
- Storm Troopers seem more brutal and they have individual voices to remind us that these are not the Clones who seemed to have been cast aside by the Empire.
- Vos is still alive, which in theory could bring Ventress into play, not in this series, but we could maybe get an appearance in something like the Bad Batch.
Ok a new Reva theory in spoilers
