That was a great call actually. It looked obviously offsides but Makar doesn't touch the puck inside the zone until several feet in.
This is the moment Makar finally touches the puck again:

haha on review I actually think that's the right call but it's borderline.
The no goalman call remains worse, Oilers remain due for some bad karma.

It’s a defensible call. It’s a pretty fine line on whether he had control as the puck crossed. The puck was no more than 6 inches from his stick at any time.

Crazy how Craig Simpson biased me on this call.

In other news, Nurse is still a terrible defenceman!!

I would hate that call against my team, mostly because it makes sense.

What’s the official rule. If it’s Control the puck that triggers he is in control of the puck as he goes into the zone if the rule is contact in the zone then it’s correct.

Is the "being in control" actually a thing or is it all about touching the puck?

Don’t we all just love how Ron is constantly pointing out Oiler player playoff records? Just retire already!!

Flames had a similar goal scored against them a couple years ago vs the canes. At least it is consistent. Also interesting to hear that for offsides the linesmen have the final say, war room can not overrule them.

He still doesn’t play it. He moved the puck inside the blue line knowing full well nytushkin is offside, but he himself hasn’t crossed the blue line. So they’re now both onside after the tag up.

The US broadcast is going on about how Makar never saw Nytushkin, where in reality he knows exactly where he is.

Just an incredible, incredible play by Makar.

I hope Bednar when asked about the goal, says he was never worried and he knew it would count.

Amazing how the games just turn into river hockey with the Oilers.

If you're on a national broadcast, be neutral regardless of country. The local broadcasts, I'd expect some homerism.
