Going to be a quick 8 days and a waste of jet fuel.
Bank on it. Avs have generational #1 C and D, and a better goalie than Smith. Flames lacked all 3 this series, and 2 of them all season.

Edmonton coach is a woodchuck-faced little smug pr*ck. Said post game he wasn’t worried about the call on the no goal because they were confident it wouldn’t count. Acting like he’s a guru because he’d sometimes put Connor and Leon together, sometimes not. Little pr*ck.

The Oilers played the Flames/Sutter hockey. They were better in every regard. Flames played like a typical Oilers defenseless style hockey. I really don’t know how you can win games against a team that continually beat you to the boards in addition to not even getting a body check in the end zones! It’s frustrating watching the dmen always looking behind to see where McD/Hyman/Drai is at all times instead of just taking the bodies. Guys like Yamamoto keep hitting guys like Gudbranson on a puck chase - are you kidding me! Flames were definitely outplayed and outworked for 3-1/2 games. Markstrom is really not to blame except for some if the stupid gials he let in, especially on the glove hand sides. He’s totally overpaid as an average goalie, really. Playing Vladar might have changed the complexion of the games but the D and the non-existent forechecking faied this team’s playoff drive.

Honestly I don’t think it’s going to be a cake walk.
Colorado is great…but if McDavid and Draisaitl keep combing for 3 goals per game that’s going to be a tough series.
Colorado has their own playoff demons and Kuemper has looked pretty average all playoffs (.904)

Gio would’ve been better than Hanifin in this series.

Not sure about that, Gio is a bit too slow. It's the would've, should've could've.

Flames D played terrible with their top guys missing/injured and Markstrom was historically bad. Despite all this its a 3-2 series (real talk)
People actually think the Avs won't absolutely torch them?

Flames gave the puck away a lot in their own end tonight and for the most part got away with it. Until the OT goal.
Very uncharacteristic.

The goal should have counted, absolutely horse crap call but who's to say they hold on to that lead? 6 minutes left and they blow every other lead. Calling it a sure win if that goes in doesn't make sense. Still infuriating that it was reversed but I've grown accustomed to the Flames getting jobbed in those situations by the league.

Flames were outright bad and hard to watch this series, barring a few players and couple periods when they had glimpses of playing like they did through the season. Didn't play well enough overall to deserve a better fate.
Disallowed goal should have counted, call it a fix or whatever, they shouldn't have had to deal with if they were playing better anyway.
Offseason will be painful. Either we see them overpay for players we're frustrated with, or lose them for nothing or at least less than they're worth which sucks too. Recent additions haven't shown enough to be satisfied with them being the guys going forward.
Dark days ahead.
Ugh

I respect this site too much to start posting pirate links but I will be plastering them elsewhere and telling people how much better those sites work anyway.

Man, as much as I despite the Oil, kudos to Woodcroft. He interrupted Jason Gregor's question so he could take a moment to personally wish Chris Snow well in his health fight. Class.
Hope Snowy is doing relatively well, Woodcroft sounded quite somber.

For me, if I take the magnitude of the call out of the equation and try to look at it in terms of ineptitude, this calls reeks more than "It was in". This was a reversal of the call on the ice, for no good reason, against the grain of a rule which has been well established and conventionally applied in such a way to not stifle offense. I've been watching hockey for 40 years, and I've never seen that call made that way. I'm embarrassed at that call.

I am the biggest homer around, but I have to agree with you on the Flames D is no where near good enough. They are just too soft. May be I'm old school, I like the rock em sock em style. No way the D should allow Hyman park at the post shift after shift, game after game.
