Was actually a pretty good period.
What can you do when the netminder gives a free one in the first minute, then goes 5/8.
You can't do anything.
If Smith was doing what Markstrom is, it would way more lopsided but the other way.
Too bad for the Flames players that are competing. You can't shelter Markstrom from everything.

Probably just watched the tapes of Dallas boxing the Flames out all series. Edmonton has figured out not to chase and just let the Flames tire themselves out cycling. Its visible the adjustments Woodcroft has been making, its hard to see what adjustments Sutter is doing on the other side of things though when every shot is in the net.

The Flames lost all their confidence and swagger for some reason. They are better than this, but they forgot. Sucks to be losing so badly, isn’t even close.

Disappointed but not surprised. This is the Flames after all. I swear this franchise is cursed or the hockey gods just hate us. I guess I was naive to think that this year could be different.
On the plus side, if you turn it off and just check the score at the end of the night it is a lot less stressful. No need to watch McDavid and Kane have their way with us, no announcers with their one sided analysis, and no need to look at all those oiler jerseys.

That was my point. Marky is a part of the team. Combine perimeter play with a goalie playing like a sieve and this is what happens. No one taking runs to the net, little to no physical play.
