This was a physical game? Might be the fewest hits in a playoff game all playoffs.

Markstrom held this team in it in the 1st and our defence couldn't hold the oilers in the 2nd.
Well hopefully Calgary can score 5 or 6 next game they will need that many to win with Jacob Vezina in net this series. Anything is possible I guess!

Lucic held up. That's not even a charge.Refs are absolute trash and so is head office in Toronto. That's a legal hit on a goalie out of his crease.

Yes, I realize the league doesn't want goalies hit. Having said that, message sent by Lucic.

I'm not worried yet. Sutter now has his players' attention. Sent a message to all his players (least of which Markstrom) by starting Vladar in P3. Good call. Gets Vladar some minutes (which he earned with his play this season) and reminds the rest of the players that hockey is a team game and every player (including the black aces) are parts of the team.

Sutter will be reminding the Flames that the playoffs are a marathon, not a sprint.

Let the Sportsnet crew salivate over McAvi and Smith. Let them fawn over Evander Kane.

Honestly, I'm not worried. Yet. Flames have yet to play their game for 60 minutes.

Go. Flames. Go.

Together.

They are in BIG trouble. You know a L is a L, its only 2 1, but the fashion in which they are playing and handling the Oilers is extremely worrisome. Most teams make adjustments or adjust their own game to defend McDavid and take at least ONE thing away from him. You aren't going to shut him down but through 3 games he is literally getting whatever he wants. The Flames are literally doing the exact same thing game after game after game. We are going to lose to a team with 1 player who is in on 75% of their goals.

And Draisaitl, is it ok lets take it easy on him cause hes hurt? He hasn't been hit once that i've noticed. Dirty or not, the guy is on one leg, go after it. Its the Stanley Cup playoffs, whatever it takes. Instead they are playing shinny around him.

This is 100% on the team, not on Marky. They failed to show up and they didn't respond to Edmonton's pace or pressure. It was an abysmal effort and Markstrom held them in it for the longest time.

Nobody ever talked about pulling Kipper, even after a bad game. Don't be silly.
It is on the team in front, but confidence and momentum are a thing.

Getting a reset in net sometimes stabilizes the team in front, and can change momentum.

It's not about Markstrom sucking, but about getting the Flames to hit reset and get back to basics. Feeling like you have a fresh set of eyes between the pipes can give you a renewed sense of confidence, too.

Fact remains they played better in front of Vladar.

Before the series started I predicted big home wins in both Games 1 & 3 in the return of the BoA. I was wrong about Game 2 though so that one still stings.

Win on Tuesday.

That was a complete team failure from Gaudreau down to Stone down to Markstrom. Just completely rolled and the D completely forgot how to defend. No fundamentals or details or structure to their game. We'll see what changes Sutter makes, but it's looking a lot like the series against the Avalanche in 2019. Pity, this Edmonton team is otherwise putrid and the Flames are making them look like world beaters.

Boy Hrudey is a bit giddy, eh? Made a good point about the D coverage in front of Markstrom though.

the skaters were horrific in the first 2 periods. our selke finalist was a -3 after 40 and gudbranson was getting exposed all night and a brutal mistake by hanifin made this a 4-0 game. theres only so much the goalie can do ask jake oettinger.

Huge problem.

Kenny Chesney front row tickets or watch Game 7?

Any advice?

I shut if off after the 3rd goal, but anyone blaming Markstrom for this one is mistaken.

Blame the team, especially the 'top' players on the team before him.

Next game is huge. Hopefully the team's best forwards and d-men don't mail it in.

No more Marky at least for next game. See how it goes, then go from there.

It might actually push him to come in and have a monster game, you just never know.

It's like the Coil team knows this is their last season to win a Cup as cap hell awaits them and they won't have Kane.

I dislike country music (although Chesney is tolerable at times) so an easy choice for me.

Oh my God, this again?

Is this series more physical then the last series? Who scored the winning goal in OT of last series?

Again

Yeah, no country music for me. I know what venue I would choose.
