Edmonton owns Markstrom.

Markstrom has a bad record against Canadian teams...Without him in the first this game is over. Flames need to collectively pick their game up.

Canadian clubs.

He ####ing owns teams south of the border, but only south of the border.

How does that even happen, and how is it a thing? I haven't a clue.

Jesus...

Stop saying that we should yank our Vezina finalist goalie because the team gave up ridiculous chances in front of him.

This is 100% on the team, not on Marky. They failed to show up and they didn't respond to Edmonton's pace or pressure. It was an abysmal effort and Markstrom held them in it for the longest time.

Nobody ever talked about pulling Kipper, even after a bad game. Don't be silly.

Honestly, the Oilers deserved this game. They were first on the puck and won most of the battles. Flames were afraid to touch the puck all night.

As mentioned above, the Oilers beat LA 6-0 and 8-2 so we know they can do this. Winning game 4 is more important than a win in game 3 so it’s time to bear down after being the second best team tonight.

Think we’ll see some changes in game 4, like we saw against Dallas. Need the split or else it’s a very uphill climb.

I defended Markstrom’s play after game 2, and he was completely hung out to dry tonight. I think you probably need to go back to him for game 4, he kept it at 0-0 in the first and is the guy that has gotten you here. Vladar looked good but I can’t put much stock in one period when you’re down by four goals.

Starting Vladar in a game where we are on the verge of going down 3-1 would be the most brutal mistake Sutter could make. Thankfully he is the coach and not some posters running high on emotion right now because that's never going to happen. Markstrom held this team in it in the 1st and our defence couldn't hold the oilers in the 2nd.

Gaudreau disappears when the game gets physical as always, let's extend him at 10+ per year.

Overall I think it was maybe the best game of the series so far.

Huh?

It's not on markstrom... sure. Not all on markstrom. But no team wins a playoff series with sub .9 goaltending. That is all markstrom can manage against the oilers. Sub .9 goaltending over like 500 shots now. It's not going to change. Play vladar and we have a shot at winning.

The whole team must play better.

Bad positioning and bad decisions leading to all 4 Oiler goals coming off odd man rushes. Period.

Won't happen like that next game. Smith lucky save at 3-0 was the game.

Johnnys life almost ended at the hands of Kane last game. He narrowly avoided the check by inches, I find he has been quiet ever since.

Sutter gave Turek 1 period in 2004 vs SJ

This should be all he needs

He has 17 pts in his last 15 playoff games.

Woof. Brutal game. Not sure what the Flames' game plan is, but clearly trying to limit McDavid by whatever they are trying to do isn't working that well. I might get some hate for saying this, but trying to lock down and stifle the Oilers isn't going to work. Oilers are the kind of team you need to score on repeatedly, than when they try to work their way back up, you score on them again. It's been proven to work on them in the past and as much as run 'n' gun hockey normally isn't the answer, this isn't a normal series as long as the McDavid cheat code is around. Flames can win in a multitude of way, but trying to make this a Dallas series is clearly going to result in losses.

So I say let McD get is 3-4 points a game and ramp up the score as much as possible. If you're going to make the finals, you need to win each series in different ways. Dallas was the defensive battle. This one is the balls to the wall, score the as much as possible-type series.

I dunno, might just be me rambling. But frustrating seeing how this team has literally no answer to shutdown McDavid.

They were also down 1-2 against the Stars. The third period showed some promise as the boys were moving their feet and getting to pucks again.

Win Game 4 and it's a clean slate again. We've seen the Oilers have much bigger collapses. It ain't over till the fat lady sings
