Maybe, again it didn't look like the refs were calling Nurse for the blatant highstick/unsportsmanlike until Tkachuk stepped in.
I guess 5-on-5 would have been better, but it should have been an easy PP again.

ugh...wish I didn't read that tonight lol...
I do think the defense is having a lot of issues... lots of giveaways; not giveaways that lead directly to a goal, but giveaways that allow the Oilers to keep it in the zone and get a goal 20-30s later...
also not getting the puck in deep from center past their blueline lead to quick transitions, the Oilers always keep cherry pickers high...

Yeah, gotta just let it go. Why give them anything... especially knowing it could turn into 4 on 4.

The bombs worked early in the game but all the point shots later on missed the net and around the boards into our zone which lead to Oilers chances. They need to work on their accuracy.

The problem with the refs calling everything in sight is that is really hurts a team like the Flames that love to roll 4 lines.
Oilers were 1/6, the Flames were 1/5. Add on that the 4on4 time and that's a ton of time for some line like the 4th to barely see the ice at all. I don't remember Lucic doing much of anything, or the first line getting into a rhythm.
If the refs keep calling anything left and right it benefits the Oilers huge. They rely on McDavid and the PP. 5 on 5? Not even close, imo. The Flames need to do their best to not give the refs any reason at all to make a call.

Reflection of the state of officiating in the league when both sides would agree the reffing was terrible.
I expect this series will settle down here shortly and that significantly favours Calgary.

Agree. Kylington looks like an AHL player out there. With Edmonton having last change in games 3 and 4, McDavid is going to exploit and humiliate Kylington all night long.

Sutter and Woodcroft should sign a joint letter to the NHL to have Chris Lee removed from the playoffs after this game.

And after the split in Edmonton, it will be a 2 out of 3 with 2 of them here

Three of our DMen are made for grinding, board battle-y hockey and can only barely skate. They're great in series like Dallas, but Edmonton doesn't even have a cycle game to disrupt.
We really, really miss Tanev - we need two strong-skating pairs again. Still think we will win, but makes it tougher!

We just have to get a split up north and it's best of 3.
