I have a feeling it’s going to be a low scoring game tonight. 2-1 or 3-2 Flames. But if we can get a goal on Smitty early, it’s gonna be ugly for him again!

Not a lot mentioning that Markstrom was brutal, the Flames defensive play was sloppy at times, that Tanev is out. That McDavid's big night (and yes, he is a great player obviously) was in large part to do with some very stoppable shots and frankly some good luck on his part.
The Oilers can be better. But so can the Flames.

Honestly that game was just wild.
Sometimes in Sports there are moments and events that you just cant draw any meaningful conclusions from.
Everything was so out of the ordinary and off.
That was one where you just sit the team down, watch the game-tape once, make a comment here and there on trends and patterns and then burn it and move along.

Usually it's family over friends and games, but with it being a special game with you having such great seats, I would hope your wife wouldn't mind you going to the game. These opportunities don't come as often as we would like. My wife wouldn't give it a second thought about me going. I hope your wife thinks similarly. Good luck!

Just go. Honestly.
She'll understand. I've recently been having a similar discussion with my wife and she was 1000% on board. If anything she was the one who pushed me to go when I was having a hard time justifying it to myself.
These opportunities dont come around all that often.
Its been ~30 years since Edmonton and Calgary met in the playoffs and who knows when it'll happen again? Getting the chance to go? You grab it and take it and your loved ones will understand.

Bloody hell, I just realized I might be dead if it takes another 30 years.

Say that you aren't feeling well. Take laptop into the bathroom and play fart sounds videos on repeat with the volume turned up (yes, they have those... don't ask). Climb out bathroom window and enjoy the game.
Problem solved, and you're welcome.

Exactly. Almost a midnight start here in New Brunswick.
I will nap before hand. Glad it's a long weekend.

Go to the game. Just go. This doesn’t come around often
I’m flying to Mexico tomorrow for a buddies wedding. His wedding night is during game 4.
Sorry bro. You’ve been a good friend for 12 years. But I’ve loved the flames for 35 and I ain’t missing this

I was going to make a coffee but a nap sounds like a better idea. I’m just too excited to sleep! Luckily I’m only in Ontario.

I took that to mean "he's going to game 4".
I may have an issue or 2 if we get by the Oil, as one of my closest friends has very good season tickets in Denver.

Honestly, I'm not sure they can. They scored 6 goals in game 1 with McDoofus and Draisaitl contributing to pretty much every single one. Normally that would end up as an Oiler victory. But their D zone play and goaltending is just so atrocious, they still ended up losing. I'm just not sure they have the horses to compete with a team like the Flames who can roll 4 lines and smother you with their forecheck.
There's no doubt that the Oilers are gonna throw everything they have at us in the 1st period tonight, which obviously means they'll be double-shifting McDrai right off the hop, since that's really all they have. Flames can either sit back and try and weather the storm, or they can do what they did in game 1 and dictate the pace themselves right from puck drop.
The 1st period will be absolutely crucial tonight. If the Flames can get on them early again and make Smith's life miserable, I think we'll end up heading to Dumpsterville with a 2-0 series lead.

My son wants a Flames shirt or jersey. I said sure but was quick to ask "and what happens if the Flames play the Jets?"
He said "go Jets!"
The things we do for our kids.

Game prediction. Oilers lead after 1 period.
Extend the lead after 2.
Flames come back and Win in period 3.
