Maybe it’s part of SNs advertising contracts. Agree this is nuts.

I also would like to hear the “oilers suck” version of baby shark played in house. Even if it’s just the beat and let the crowd sing the words.

I did sing it in the bathroom post game. Got some chuckles from flames fans and some looks of resignation from Oiler fans.

Really OT here, I am not a big gambler but I had some luck on Bodog and won more than $10,000 in 2 separate events. The second time I won, it took a long time to get the cheque because they had to "investigate". After getting my money, they suspended my account and wouldn't answer my emails as to why. I know it seems ridiculous because people win a lot more money than I did, but I can't think of any other reason they suspended me. I haven't bet on anything since.

Doesn’t surprise me. Any business that makes money like those do would be supremely motivated not to pay out. Sounds like insurance companies.

Really tells you that you're not actually supposed to win big, let alone on multiple occasions. Cause that would be suspicious!

They want you chasing the bait, not actually attaining it.

The only thing I bet on is the Sportselect, and each time I only bet one tickets $2 bucks. I do it just to get the bragging right over my older brother.

Gambling addiction is a serious problem for many and shouldn't be taken lightly.

Still, I believe that guys like Kane who are in the spotlight, able to make millions, and have a choice about being a high-profile public entertainer, are fair game for getting the gears for it. Same with mocking alcoholic athletes IMO. If you can't take the heat, get off the ice and get some help and be in an environment where you are safe. But to exercise your right to participate in professional sports you have to be able to handle the abuse that comes with it.

I have zero sympathy for Kane or any NHL player getting mocked on the ice outside of racism or sexism/homophobia.

Australia has been saturated for a few decades with the gambling level that North America is now encountering. You'll get used to it.

Yeah, most addicted gamblers do worse that that. Thats nothing!

The addiction threshold is $100M, at least.
If you bet money you can't afford to lose, you might have a gambling problem.

If you bet tens of millions of dollars you don't even have, you've got a stupidity problem.

No, you don't understand addiction problem. Don't call people stupid when you don't fully understand the situation.

You don't know what I understand or don't understand. But apparently you think ‘I have an addiction’ excuses everything Kane has done, so I would guess you don't know a lot of things that you think you do.

Many rich people have addictions, including gambling problems – and they go on being rich, because they know they have problems and take steps to protect themselves. Kane did the opposite.

It IS calling people stupid, but in different words. Kane made the profoundly stupid decision not to protect any of his assets and to run up unpaid debts with bookies.

On what possible grounds do you have a problem with one way of expressing it but not the other?
