Ever notice we always have one main Oiler troll with ridiculous takes...when they disappear another pops up. Odd

I saw it on Twitter he said "we were 3-0 wearing this hat, I am not throwing it away."

Also the article in which he stated he had a gambling addiction/problem sort of confirms that.

https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article...investigation/

Kane admitted that he had dealt with a gambling problem, and opened up about how it affected his life. He said his decision to file for bankruptcy in January was the first step to “making some better decisions moving forward.”

“I had a gambling problem, and when you have a gambling problem — just like a drinking problem or a drug problem — sometimes you can’t control your actions,” said Kane, who also said he’d once gambled on the night before a playoff game

Is this different than Alex Burrows making a drinking gesture towards Shane O'Brien? Part of me thinks that it isn't that much different, except how society views different addictions. Plus Kane has repeatedly messed up, and is a pretty unlikable person.

Perhaps others will chime in with ideas.

I also would like to hear the “oilers suck” version of baby shark played in house. Even if it’s just the beat and let the crowd sing the words.

I would like Draisaitl to get all angry about something then we can all chant

“Why so pissy” clap, clap, clap clap clap “Why so pissy”

26 million in debt gambling.

Yeah, most addicted gamblers do worse that that. Thats nothing!

The addiction threshold is $100M, at least.

I agree with this. But as you mention, the problem is that he’s a massive ######bag. It’s hard to have any empathy and I think that’s probably ok too. It’s a dickhead move to make fun of him but I admit that I secretly liked it.

I suppose making fun of Kane’s bankruptcy is a step removed from making fun of his gambling. The bankruptcy is a step removed (and gambling wasn’t the only thing that caused it - other lifestyle stuff as well).

It was borderline but it’s also the playoffs. I don’t know. Kane is a big dick.

I read recently that golfer Phil Mickelson is or was also a big gambler who lost a lot of money, I was surprised but I guess shouldn’t be cause golf is a sport where players bet with each other. Still a lot of money to be losing.

But the more money you have the longer you can gamble and make bigger bets too, end result is usually the same.

Kane also has another addiction beside gambling, he is addicted to being a garbage human being. He does it on the ice and off the ice, he can't help it, he is just addicted to it.

I agree, people shouldn't make fun of his addiction. Gambling addiction is the hardest to rid of. One of my childhood friend was a fine human being, before he got addicted to gambling. He had a good job, wife and kids. Then he gambled a few times and won big, tenth of thousand. He thought it's easy money and gamble more and more. Guess what, he not only lost all he had won, he lost most of their saving. He then lie, cheat to get money from his parents and siblings. The ending wasn't pretty, his wife divorce him, parents and sibling disowned him, in and out of prison. The end was he killed himself. That's why I really hate seeing those gambling commercials on TV during hockey broadcast. Just terrible.

I’m not a fan of all this gambling stuff either. Now we have Friedman updating the odds between periods. Is that part of the NHL’s arrangements with the betting site(s)?

The commercials bother me a bit, but not as much as when the panelists start talking about bets and odds.

Really OT here, I am not a big gambler but I had some luck on Bodog and won more than $10,000 in 2 separate events. The second time I won, it took a long time to get the cheque because they had to "investigate". After getting my money, they suspended my account and wouldn't answer my emails as to why. I know it seems ridiculous because people win a lot more money than I did, but I can't think of any other reason they suspended me. I haven't bet on anything since.
