We can point fingers at the offense but Flames still had close to 40 shots and couple posts from Tkachuk and Gudbranson. It's a game of inches.

Defensively the Flames needed to be better. That starts with faceoffs and ends with lowering chances and shots against... they got away from their game in that regard in this one owing to Dallas's desperation. I'm sure Markstrom would like to have the first goal back too.

Some individuals are delivering and some are flagging but the only way Calgary will win on Sunday is by a complete team effort.

Yes, Oettinger has been good but tonight after the 1st, the Flames were outplayed and they didn’t test him enough

And I would say that's because of lack of confidence. 1st period they had some close calls in getting a goal, but come out with nothing. Yet again, this is feeling more challenging than desired.

Stars pot 2 in the second. But Flames got a boost with being able to get their first goal, and then controlled the game for the most part up to their second goal. They're feeling good.

But the Stars got the game winning goal, and from there on out, and dictated the flow the rest of it.

If Markstrom didn't let in the softy for the first goal, this game could've gone much different, and the series may be over tonight.

But the biggest fault for the Flames was getting beatdown in the faceoffs. If you're not competing equally or better in those, awfully challenging to win tight checking games then.

Well if so he did it to himself. Those antics in game 1 and 2 were stupid and risky. If he broke it it shows his immaturity and lack of awareness.
