And I would say that's because of lack of confidence. 1st period they had some close calls in getting a goal, but come out with nothing. Yet again, this is feeling more challenging than desired.
Stars pot 2 in the second. But Flames got a boost with being able to get their first goal, and then controlled the game for the most part up to their second goal. They're feeling good.
But the Stars got the game winning goal, and from there on out, and dictated the flow the rest of it.
If Markstrom didn't let in the softy for the first goal, this game could've gone much different, and the series may be over tonight.
But the biggest fault for the Flames was getting beatdown in the faceoffs. If you're not competing equally or better in those, awfully challenging to win tight checking games then.
